I see that many of the cars Kerbeck orders have the ZF1 package. Is this because most buyers like the spoiler or they just want their cars to LOOK like they have the Z51 package? I know the larger wheels/tires also come with the ZF1 package. Thanks.
While i cannot tell you why Kerbeck orders the cars that they order, i suspect that you are correct in that people want the spoiler and Z51 wheels.
For me personally (i came from a 2LT "base" C6) i wanted the best car i could get for the money this time around. The Z51 coupe did it for me. I love everything about it.
I ordered the ZF1 package because in order to get the wheels it was necessary.
Most people like the wheels but also like the spoiler as well. It basically comes down to the look of the Z51 without the extra performance upgrades which many don't feel they need.

Do either the ZF1 wheels or spoiler actually affect performance at highway speeds?
ZF1 is basically a poser Z51, but great for somone like me who will never track the car and doesn't feel like tossing money at dry sump or e-diff ect. This extra stuff will not help in the occasional stop light romp or on-ramp blast, although someone will surely chime in about the steeper gears.
In my opinion, the spoiler gives the car a more aggressive look from the side. Also the 19/20 wheels visually fill the wheel wells better. Looks good. No performance advantage other than I've heard the Z51 wheels get stickier tires? Cant imagine the spoiler does anything but look cool. Z51 tires also have smaller sidewalls which could actualy be a disadvantage with both ride and traction. I guess with run flats though, sidewall is hard as hell anyway. So maybe no sidewall advantage with the base wheels?

I ordered ZF1 to get the wheels. The spoiler was a plus but probably not worth the extra cost overall. I'm not trying to look like a Z51, nor am I trying to look like a Z06 with my grille change, I just like it better. I would have ordered Z06 wheels cuz I like them best of all but that wasn't an option. Sure, I could have ordered a base car without ZF1 and bought the wheels I wanted but overall that was more effort than I wanted to make. I'm happy with what I have and hope everyone else is happy with what they have.
Just from observations - if you are over 45, you think the spoiler says "performance" and looks cool (harkening back to the look of the cars in the 70's & 80's you thought were cool in your youth); if you are under 45, and have grown up with European and Japanese performance cars of the more recent vintage, you think "why?".
When Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Jaguar start tacking blade spoilers like the Z51 or Z06 to their street cars, then maybe they will be mainstream cool - but right now it is just a sign of the owner being older.
I wish there was an option to just get the Z51 wheels as I just love the way they look and the base wheels are boring. However, I think the spoiler takes away from the angular flow of the back and gives a straight across appearance. Personally I could care less if the base looks or doesn't look like the Z51.
Hey GM, give us an option to just get the Z51 wheels w/o the spoiler.
What is the difference in the standard spoiler, and the Z51 spoiler?
Tons of pics out there. The standard spoiler doesn't span the full width of the car while the Z51 spoiler does. The Z51 also sits higher. Very different looks.
I got a Z51 spoiler from ebay and had it installed when it was delivered to the dealer from Bowling Green. I didn't want to pay more for any of the other packages but really did not like the look of the standard spoiler.
