The "Autopilot" was on when I got the car and it didn't seem to do much. After I got my screen replaced and the software updated it works a lot better. Before I had to constantly fiddle with the volume. Now I don't have to touch it and the level is perfect no matter how slow or fast I'm going. ( 2014 3LT A6 - Vin in the 12000s - Feb 2014 delivery)
I can't find a good volume either. Bose Audio Pilot overcompensates too much for my taste. Can't stand it getting so quite every time I come to a stop. Problem is the excessive amount of ambient road noise inherent with most sports cars. Not to mention the various input sources defaulting to different volumes. Not a great system IMO.
I've only had my car for a week now but have noticed this already. It compensates for ambient noise instead of speed and does get very quiet at idle while having no adjustments like most systems have. Even my Harley has five or six adjustments to the AVC and I would expect an expensive Bose system to be equally featured.
Just brought my 2015 home Saturday from the NCM. Is it me or is the volume on the C7 lower. I have to darn near crank it all the way to actually be able to hear it semi loud. Anyone else have that problem??
I have 1 2015 LT3 'vert, and I am disappointed with the sound system also.
For those that find the sound to be lower when using Bluetooth, make sure you turn the volume up on your phone. The phone simply thinks it is playing to a Bluetooth speaker, and the volume setting on the phone will effect the output from the car.
Volume on mine (1LT) is fine. I don't use the auto pilot feature as it seems to over compensate up and down too much for my liking.
Steering wheel volume control is so easy to use when driving I just adjust up and down as necessary depending on road noise or (in the case of recorded audio on memory stick) song volume variances.
For the cabin size of the car and normal listening, the Bose sounds very nice IMO. I was a field artillery guy and it still seems to be quite loud if you crank it up. Course, I'm not playing it to entertain everyone else in traffic with the volume either.
The Autopilot feature sucks. The old speed compensating feature was better, it works fine on my Acadia. Like others if you turn autopilot on it is far too quiet , then too loud when your moving so I leave it off. So far as the sound it's self it's a decent system, looking forward to doing some sound proofing this spring to improve it though.
