Default Only a Matter of Time: C7 Corvette Sports Lambo Doors

The minute the C7 rolled out, we figured it would only be a matter of time before someone wound up putting a pair of Lamborghini doors on the car. Unfortunately, we were right.

Saw another C7 with lambo doors as well. The one thing in common, is the roof is always removed, or the windows rolled down due to the window indexing. This would be a pain to remember every time you get out of the car. Of course, after one time of not doing it, you may never forget again.

Is badmouthing the choices of some C7 owners the job of a Corvetteforum Editor now? I would hope not but apparently I would be wrong.

It's definitely distinctive. And I think it's cool. With the hood up and the rear hatch up, these cars always stand out at the public car shows. For big guys like me, the car might be easier to get out of too.

I can't understand why changing the hinges on your car door would command attention at car shows! To each his own!!

No kidding. These threads add absolutely no value to the community.

Actually, it's NOT the first ever C7 Corvette with vertical doors. There's a red one near me here in central FL that's been rocking them since last summer. Sorry not sorry...late to the party.

I think the lines of the car support the look, but it's not for me.

Is it harder to get in or out of a car with those doors? Doesn't look like much room.

Personally I think it's tacky but I don't think it's appropriate for a CorvetteForum Editor to call out a member on it and post it on the front page.

I heard about lambo doors on a c6 that open both ways. They work like normal for everyday use and vertical for shows or whenever you want.

With limited room in a garage I can actually see where they can be beneficial. I have a 3 car garage and between the 3 motorcycles, 2 cars and other crap the cars are closer together than I would like and are sometimes a pain to get in and out of. This would definitely help but because of the indexing windows would make this setup completely unusable.

It's not that uncommon-I've seen lot's of Corvettes with scissor doors.

The thing you have to know is that you must push them out first and then lift them up. It's kind of a pain to operate.....

Well.....everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I'd bag on the Gramps Chromies before I'd bag on the lambo doors, although those are VERY cheezy......

I have always like lambo doors. it would be easier in my garage. I am just not going to spend the money to do it. I would liek a blower instead.

If you think the word "unfortunately" means badmouthing then you guys really need to grow a pair. There is nothing wrong at all with his post, he's starting a conversation and contributing to the forum, unlike most of the dopey clowns this place is full of.
