Not that long ago I noted mid grade gas was $.10 higher per gallon per gallon and premium another $.10.
The difference has gradually crept up and noted today that mid grade was $.25 higher and another $.25 for premium.
Everybody experience this?
It doesn't bother me greatly other than the fact that I suspect these suppliers are seeking extra profits. In a short period of time they go from $.20 per gallon to $.50 per gallon from regular to premium.
You're lucky to have only a $.20 jump over regular for premium. It averages $.40 higher in Memphis. Years ago it was only $.20 higher. I guess the stations make up the difference for the lower prices on regular by making premium higher priced.

I captured this image of a local gas station from google maps. Their gas is always priced in 10 cent increment. The attached google maps image is from April 2013.

I understand what you are saying, it used to be regular, and then a ten cent difference for mid-grade, and then a ten cent difference for premium. Which only equated to a 20 cent difference between low and high grade.
Now it's at least 30 cents or more between low and high.
We are a semi capitalist society and everyone is out to make a buck. Most gas stations operate on a minimal fuel markup and their real profit lies in luring you into the accompanying convenience store, restaurant, etc. to make more profits. The parent companies are now pushing corporate owned stores to increase their profit and drive out the local entrepreneur. This won't lower prices, but will allow them to pay minimum wage workers and enhance their profits. Fuel products draw you in, but R.I.S.E. makes more $$. When was the last time you went to or even saw a full service gas station?
Let's see now.... since I'm paying $2.49 per 93-octane gallon, and I was, a few months ago, paying up to $4.03..... I'm gonna quibble over .20 - .40 cents per gallon difference? I don't think so.
In the Metro NYC area (NY side of Hudson), regular is $2.39, premium is $2.99 and diesel is $3.89. Just be glad C7's don't use diesel.
In NJ, regular was $1.89, premium was $2.39 and diesel was $3.29.
We Americans have be getting screwed by the oil companies/gas stations for 6-8 years !!
Try buying gas in any other country, with possibly the exception of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and tell me that we're getting screwed. We have it great by comparison.
