Default Pulled the trigger on a new 2015

I'd never driven one before and I didn't drive it before I bought it. I knew I couldn't hate it, and if I did there are worse things in life then being "stuck" with a Corvette
Made the deal on the phone, drove 35 miles to the dealership with a friend, and drove it home last night.

After owning 15 corvettes, including 6 C6's I thought I knew it all and had pretty much driven the best. WOW, was I wrong. Compared to the Stingray, the c6 is actually primative......and I loved that generation..

Asthetically, the interior blew me away. I felt as though I was in a 150k car.....As soon as I popped it in 1st I could feel the tight steering and the perfect clutch.

Headed for the turnpike and opened it up a bit....shifting is silk..no notchiness. Gears are where they should be. The car is tight as a drum. I felt rooted to the road, and there wasn't much road noise...when the runflats are gone it will be much quieter. The torque is monsterous...it really pins you back in the seat....which is 10,000% better then the previous generation...After 10 minutes I started feeling comfortable and opened it up a bit, changing lanes safely but crisply. I felt in total control of the machine. As a former multiple Ferrari, Lambo, Aston etc. owner I can absolutely say that this car performs as well as any of them, and is more comfortable the them all.....at least on the highway. Totally enveloped by the seats and the interior....felt light a fighter plane.....honestly, any comparison between the Stingray and the c6 is coincidental...kinda like comparing an ant to a human being. Selling a car like this at this price point is crazy....it would be a bargain at twice the msrp. Gonna pop the top and drive all day. I really happy to be back in the fold after 3 yrs!

Great write-up of your first impressions of your new C7. However, for those of us poor slugs still waiting for our cars to be delivered, you've only made the wait more painful!

Your car looks great! Congratulations and good luck with it!

It is gratifying to hear the praise from someone who has owned other Vettes and especially those other exotic cars. And for a base model, too.

Sweet ride, Steve! Enjoy the day in your new C-7. Nice write up and expensive comparisons! You're lucky you can go for a drive today. Mine's been in winter storage for four months!

Thanks so much....I tried the waiting game w my first c6....to ocd to do that again
I was lucky enough to find the car I'd have ordered. 1lt, 7sp, with no options. I got "clipped" for the transparent roof, and glad I have it...looks great from the inside out at sunset!

Nice ride, congrats. I also had a C-6 and agree with you, there is no comparison between the C-6 and C-7. Its going to be 70 degrees today, will have to take the top of the C-7 and go for a ride. Nice to see another C-7 finding a home in FL.
