Default Nav question

I almost always want Heading Up view. Rarely North Up view. So that's the way I have it set. Problem: For some mysterious reason, about once a week, it decides on it's own to pop out of Heading Up view and revert to North Up view. Sure, I can go thru all the button presses to set it back the way I want it, which is exactly what I do. But what a hassle. Why oh why does it randomly pop out of Heading Up view? And how do I prevent that?

I really can't answer for the C7 as I have not used my Nav enough to experience this......but in my Acura, I too always have Heading Up view, but if I zoom out enough (don't know to what point) it will change to Heading North and when I zoom back in, I have to change it back to Heading Up. Won't do it on it's own. Just the nature of the beast.

Don't know if this helps or not, or if you're zooming out like I described, but a possible reason.

Well that's something to be aware of. Thanks for the idea.

I have a 2014 2LT, in case that has anyng to do with it.

F W I W I had my GPS set to 3 D mode and zoomed to level that works for me. One day I started my car and when the navigation displayed, it was back to default settings. Not sure but I thought I got a message displayed just prior to that reset.

Could we be getting software updates via the satellites that maybe resets things?

Mine does the same thing. If you tap the head's up (N) arrow, it will revert back to the always up mode...

Yep. I'm thinking you might have inadvertently tapped the "N" icon while trying to get something else to display. It's pretty easy to do.

Hmm, that could be, I had the Bluetooth screen displayed and hit the nav button to display the navigation screen.

Pretty sure I got a message after doing it (which i had never gotten before - about danger of getting in an accident when playing with the nav while driving). Maybe double tapped it when selecting.

Are you guys talking about the white N in the gray circle at the top center of the screen? Tapping that does nothing for me. If my finger slides a little, it causes the menu to appear for 30 seconds. That's it.

On my C6, the N did indeed toggle North up / heading up. But not on my C7, as far as I can tell. The only way I know to toggle it is by using the Map View menu, which requires several presses and is a hassle, especially while driving.

Ditto... I did this the other day. An easy fix.

hmmmm - tried this too, touch the "N" and it did not do anything, had to actually activate the menu and change it on map view menu. If I knew why it would change to a North view that would at least help. Any suggestions?

May require a longer press than just a "touch" but this will cycle through North up, Heading up, and 3D

I like north up. It looks like I'm reading a paper map that way.

Mine has been north up from day 1 but 3 or 4 days ago, the damn thing switched to 3d and had the whole map turning around the car. Haven't a clue why it changed! I set it back to north up.

Thanks, maybe I was too hasty - I will try that again with a 'longer' press.

I just discovered this feature a week ago by accident.

I like the "North Up" view and the wife likes "Heading Up".
I tell her it's just because she likes it that the world revolves around her with every turn in "Heading Up".
