Spring Hill, TN
My new Vette was built on Saturday Feb 21 with a TPW of 2/16 and is now on a truck to Spring Hill. Anyone know how long they hang out there before continuing on? I'm in So. Florida so I assume transfer to another truck.
Ced,
Mine is coming to South FL as well (same TPW as you) I've been told it's been put on the trailer already. I know a bunch of cars got sent to Spring Hill TN. No idea why though... Some were speculating they will get put on other trucks so they can move them with other vehicles. like a distribution center.

My guess is the same. Interesting, my friends car coming to the same dealer is being trucked direct. His has been sitting in the lot at BG for over a week. Due to snow early last week I suspect.
Yeah, there is a plant there. It's where the saturn plant was and I believe they make the car panels there for the vettes. Not 100% though... Just what I read here.
I sure as hell hope it's not coming by train here!
I requested my dealer to activate my onstar, so in a day or two, we'll be able to see if the car is on a railtrack, or a highway I suppose. lol

CSX Auto Rail Head in Tampa and Juniper.
Maybe it will truck all the way down, I know that the rail is the mode of choice fro trips longer than 11 hours...
Either way, you get yours 5 weeks before me... Mine is still waiting on all of its parts to the plant...maybe 23 March it will happen!!!

I got some news from Cooper transport as to what is going on. He said after the snow storm hit it covered all the cars outside in snow and ice, and they would not try to clean those cars off to ship them. So no ice scraping or snow brushing, can't blame them.
But when the roads were cleared and production started they had no room to put the newly built cars because the parking lot was full of snow covered cars. Shutting the plant down because your parking lot is full is not an option, so that's why the cars built right after the snow days got shipped to Spring Hill TN immediately, it is another GM facility and they have a huge parking lot.
In other words, if your car made it to Spring Hill it kinda hasn't shipped yet, it's no different than if it's sitting in BG on the dock. He called BG to get all this information for me, and he was told that GM has some changes to make in the computer as far as the routing and paperwork of our cars because they are not shipping to their final destination from BG. He said that should be done Thursday or Friday at the latest, and as it is done the cars will roll out.

I spoke with my dealer today. He told me mine is heading to Greenacres (my courtesy dealer) straight from the factory. It's 4200 now and he's confident it will leave the factory tomorrow or friday. Should have the car here by monday or tuesday latest.

I worked at Saturn for a lot of years and once got in trouble for going into Corvette shipping lanes to check them out....
