Default Dealer allocation

I'm sure this question has been addressed before, but would appreciate an answer. I put an order in at my local dealer who says he has allocations. Not a mega dealer but sells a decent amount of Vettes. Has 8 or 9 C7's on the floor and 3 Z06's.

It will be 4 weeks on 2/28 since I ordered and still at 1100. He showed me the work bench order it says.....

Event Description 1100- Preliminary Order Accepted. My question does this mean that the dealer does in fact have allocation for this order?

Thanks in advance !

No, it means he DOES NOT currently have an allocation for that order. Does your order have any items on constraint? Do you know if there are others in line ahead of you at this dealer?

It means he has not had an allocation he wants to assign to your car. Your car is not moving forward in the process until you are at event code 2000, accepted by GM.

This is the 2/19 constraint list. I ordered a Z51 with visible carbon roof.
Don't know if C2Z/C2M is code for visible carbon roof.

RPO............Description.............. ..................Availability
Z51............Performance Package............................50%
C2Q............Dual Roof Package (Body Color and Transparent)..0%
C2Z/C2M........Roof Panels ...................................30%
CFA............Standard roof (painted)........................40%

C2M is dual Trans and Vis CF roof.

I suspect C2Z is Vis CF alone...

Your dealer has to get an allocation for a Z51 with the visible carbon roof. The Z51 is on 50 percent constraint, stack the carbon fiber roof constraint and the odds are greatly reduced that you will get your order accepted by GM.

I think it works like this--only 50 percent of the cars produced are Z51 and 30 percent of that 50 percent are going to be visible carbon fiber. That's about 15 out of 100 allocations for Z51s with visible carbon roof.

Ernest T has it right, but those percentages are nationwide values. The percentages for an individual dealer will vary and typically the larger dealers get a somewhat higher percentage and the smaller dealers get a somewhat smaller percentage.

So, if your dealer gets 5 allocations per consensus cycle (a pretty decent number), he may not get any with both Z51 and C2Z. Statistically, he'll get 0.75 allocations with both. So, maybe he gets 1, maybe he gets none. Next consensus cycle, its the same crap shoot. If your dealer gets fewer allocations per consensus cycle, your chances get even lower. If you are not #1 on your dealers list with these constraints and he gets one, it will go to whoever is before you.

Default Final Consensus for 2015 Z06

I have had a 1100 status for a auto-trans 2LZ Z06 since Mid November 2014. The Dealer says he has two Z06 allocations. One came in to the dealer about mid-January. As of 4/11/2015 no change in 1100 code for my order. The dealer says the last Z06 consensus comes next week and has preliminary info that shows the Z06 is going to be on the list and they will get the order in by 4/16/2015, which I'm told, is the last day Z06 orders will be accepted. I'm taking wagers from my friends that most likely, I will not be getting any action from GM and will have to wait until the 2016 Z06 ordering opens up. However, the dealer would like me to bring in my 2012 Grand Sport for trade-in next Tuesday 4/14. Does any of this sound familiar?

Maybe you can get them to look at your '12, but I wouldn't trade it in until your production status goes past 2000. I got an offer on my trade shortly after going to status 2000, but did not surrender it to the dealer until the day before I left for my Museum delivery, which is also when we finished up the paperwork and I handed over the big check.

I placed an order with Mike at Criswell in March. I had two constraints...Z51 which is at
50% and CFA which is at 45%. My car was just delivered today. So, it's up to you...

Personally, I would cancel your order and seek out a forum dealer. Most local dealers don't know,
don't care or frankly don't understand their own ordering process or constraints.

I went thru a similar situation with a local Ohio dealer. I can tell that if your order hasn't been picked up since your order in November......your dealer does NOT have an allocation for a 2015. He has strung you along and will push you to get a 2016. Call a forum dealer. I got one of the last 2015 allocations from Mike Furman at Criswell in Maryland.
