Default Need help installing Stingray badge

I bought a set of 1974 (I Think) NOS die cast" Stingray Logos" to put just above the factory "Stingray fish" to dress up my C7. I have seen these on a couple of other cars and thought they looked pretty nice. The Logos are die cast I believe, about 7 inches long and have 2 pins on the back. Could someone tell me the best way to install these

Thanks Deano

Yikes! Those were meant to go though factory holes in the fender. Cut those pins off and grind them down then use automotive grade 3M VHB tape to install.

The other option is to drill holes in your fenders. I would NOT do this but its your car.

As mentioned, grind the pins, 3M... Maybe a torpedo level, a tape measure, and blue painter's tape as a guide to ensure alignment consistency with the opposite side.

Most modern day emblems, as well as scoops, louvers, etc, use 3M VHB, so no worries about it falling off. Just prep (degrease) the surface with isopropyl, or equivalent, or even a Dawn soap (if you're concerned about the isopropyl), and you will not have any issues.

Mount them on your tool box in your garage.

Are you sure you want both the existing emblems and the "Stingray" script on your car? it's going to be a little much IMO. I'm by no means a fan of such mods but if you're set on sticking the "Stingray" script on your fenders I suggest removing the existing emblems.

Thanks for the help and suggestion on mounting them on the tool box, but I just think they look so cool on the C7 Vettes I have seen and bring back that old STINGRAY Nostalgia from years ago. Got to mount them on the car. I guess that's what happens when your 64 and on your 7th vette and have your 67 goat in the garage from high school !! Got To Do It

Hell Yeah do it.

That's what I am looking for.

Where did you find them and what did they cost if you don't mind my asking?

They have 3M type tape backing. Simply demal off the two locator posts, making sure there are no sharp edges left to scratch the car.
Have had mine on for over a year and still secure.

I got my pair on Ebay, 35 bucks for the pair. Also try Amazon.com and type in 1974 Stingray logo. Although the ones on Amazon were a little bit more

I am generally a fan of leaving the car alone. Adding stickers, badges, hood graphics....messes up an otherwise beautiful car. BUT...

I really like the "Stingray" on it. Maybe in place of the fish logo, but from posted picture I like it!

Don't do it. The Stingray script on this car looks dated, does not go with the rest of the car, as the script was meant for another generation. Retro does not work with this car., IMHO.

It is from an era of 40+ years ago! (1968-1976)

Since this thread is about the Stingray logos, are most of you reading this leaving them on? The fish were removed on mine for the XPEL install and I have not put them back on - I think I may like it better without them, but the jury is still out. It does look "cleaner" with nothing at all, but as many have pointed out it's a personal choice. Seems the "fish or no fish" debate will go on and on LOL...
