Why not buy 4 floor jacks and lift the car, put stands under the car for safety, more portable ??!! I don't like these for the money, rather have a real 4 post lift and not 2 posts !! My $.02

love the quick jacks, they work great on my 5gen camaro. They would be great for a light corvette.

The advantage I see to the QuickJack, it's easy to store it out of the way.

2-pole lifts can have their problems. Here's one example of one of the two poles giving way:
Well they do have a 7000-8000 lb vehicle on a lift designed for 5000-7000 lbs. So they were over the max weight. What do you expect??

And I sure wouldn't want a back yard buddy based on what I've seen and heard about them.

I've got the QuickJack BL-5000AC and like it a lot. Works great with my C5 and my C7 .. have used it for oil changes on both of them. The car feels very stable when it's in the air .. no rocking or movement at all .. The locking bars, when set, absorb all the weight, so at that point even a major hydraulic failure would not lower the car. I suspect the hydraulic lines could be disconnected in that state, but that's just a guess. I'm not sure I'd want to leave the car in that state for extended periods, with the wheels and suspension 'hanging' ..

A little pricey for it's size .. but for me a great option. No big uprights to contend with, no drilling into the floor, portable .. and if I needed to, I could disconnect the hoses and lean the base units against the wall .. where it would take up virtually no space.

Yeah, too bad that they wouldn't consider a group buy.

my c7 is lowered all the way on stock bolts, my bl-5000 fits under no problem with a sheet of papers distance to spare

I wouldn't mind having one of these considering my garage is very tight. I don't think I can effectively get my 3 ton floor jack under the Vette and have enough room to effectively pump the grab bar. This would allow me to lift my car inside my garage no problem! Give me something to do when it's raining.

BTW I saw this in the Northern Tool Catalog that I got yesterday on sale for $1035!!!

I got these, as I didn't have room for a 2 post jack in my garage. I just used it to lift new car and install WeaponX splitter and side skirts. The Quick Jacks were in the way of installing the side shirts, so I set it down on 4 jack stands, slid out the Quick Jacks, installed side skirts, slid Quick Jacks back in, removed jack stands and lowered car. Usually the Quick Jacks are not in the way of working on the car.

Awesome device, but after 22 years in the USAF where SAFETY was first and foremost in all our activities, I'd still use jack stands.

Looks like when the locking bars are in place it is safer than jack stands. The base looks wider than a jack stand base.

Yeah, I think it's fine with the bars in place. But for the truly paranoid, you could still put jack stands under the frame rails in addition to the quick jack. Or use the quick jack to lift the car, put jack stands under, and then lower the jack.

I think the BL-5000 gets the car higher than any jackstand I have, and that will make the car easier to work under.
