Wind shield scratch Help
New zo6 has a fine scratch in wind shield from factory. was made buy wiper it is not deep. I was wondering what to use to polish it out dealer wants to try but I would rather do it my self .so any in put. thanks
And if they screw it up, they can replace it.

If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail, they probably cannot polish it out...
If it is just a surface scratch, you can polish it out with cerium oxide, optical quality polish, which is on ebay.
If there is just one scratch, I would try hand polishing it... you do have to be careful if you start using a polishing wheel on a drill.

1. Don't do it yourself.
2. Is this warranty work or did it happen on your watch/dime? If you are paying for it take it to a glass place that installs windshields. They will have expertise in doing this - shouldn't be that expensive.
3. If warranty work find out from dealer who is doing the work. Dealer might be outsourcing already to a glass house. It's a relatively easy job for someone with the right tools, compounds, and knowledge/experience.
