Default What Garmin do you have in your cubby?

Tell me what Garmin you are using and what power cords to use. I want the whole set-up, but I want the largest garmin that fits.

well I don't have a Garmin.....I have a Tom Tom and I have a USB power cord that came with mine. Mine is a 5", but its a few years old, it was the biggest that they had at the time. Now they have a 6" wide screen, and that would fit in the cubby was well.

If you put them in the cubby will they still receive the satellite signal?

I keep a Garmin 2579 in the cubbie, as a back-up to the internal GPS.

Is this thread sad or what?

Listen up GM.

for if it weren't for the fact that GM paired up the Nav and the Performance Camera, I would have opt'ed for Nav if it were stand alone, but there was NO FRINKIN WAY I was going to pay $1700 just to have an internal Nav System, my Tom Tom works just fine. If nothing else, I have to thank GM for putting a USB port in the cubbie, as I have a USB cord for my Tom Tom. lol

I use the NAV that came with my C7.

Works great, integrated wonderfully with the car and has never let me down

The cost of the navigation unit and PDR is in line with other manufactures navigation systems that are only navigation capable. The navigation unit was a bargain on the 2014 model.

I use Waze or Google Maps on my phone - directions heard through sound system via bluetooth, free map upgrades, etc., etc.

For anyone interested, I just purchased a Garmin 2597LMT (lifetime free maps and lifetime free traffic updates) for $149.00 from BestBuy. I got them to match the price of an online vendor.

And the GM navigation system is a bargain?????

I hear all the complaints about the GPS in the C7 but I've yet to have a problem with mine once.....everytime I've put in the address I'm going to it takes me straight there.

Attempted to check out my Garmin Nuvi 265 using the cubby, but found when I connected the usb cord to the usb outlet all it did was charge the device. It wouldn't switch on. Apparently I have to use the other cord and one of the 'cigarette lighter' ports.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

...and it appears the cubby usb connection is always on, as it began charging the second I put the cord in (prior to starting the car).
