Still having what I think are transmission problems. The loud noise/clunk I hear/feel "only" happens when I put the pedal to the floor and the transmission is shifting. Otherwise, it appears to shift ok, although I certainly feel/hear the transition from V8 to V4 and is way too noticeable.
I finally found a dealer (not a gm/warranty) that specializes in vettes and he said he would try to troubleshoot the problem and had no issues going WOT to see if he could isolate the problem that I am describing. He said before bringing it in, to turn off the traction mode and try flooring it to see if it does the same thing. Unfortunately, it still does, so I'm back to square one.
The shifting noise occurs almost always at around 5500 rpm when the automatic is shifting (way to early for the rev limiter to kick in), so I'm wondering does anyone else have any ideas. Even though I have ruled out the rev limiter, does anyone have the noise recorded or can they describe what it is like when it happens?
Thanks,

It absolutely sucks not being able to accelerate and having it sound/feel like the transmission is about to fall out when shifting from one gear to the next!

So you've somehow ruled out that it's the fuel cut at WOT shift that I suggested in your previous thread?
I'm certainly entertaining the idea now, just figured since i was in automatic and the car was shifting way below redline at 5500 and then made the noise at 4000 rpm it could be ruled out. However now I think i should explore others ideas more in case the rev limiter was set lower somehow.
Guess thats why i was trying to get a better feel of what it sounds/feels like with fuel cutoff. Have you experienced that?
I'd be at the dealership everyday until it was fixed. You need to get with Chevy Customer Care here on the forum and start documenting what is being said/done to get this fixed. I wish you luck brother. I would be livid!

I sent you a private message back in February. You do know there is a GM bulletin on the A8 that your dealer should have? That may help you to either figure out the problem or at best help you to eliminate the Bulletin issue as the problem you are having.

Found it, thanks! That should give me something to go on.
I have the A8 and notice nothing abnormal. I can offer some personal advice... Don't stress too much. If there is a problem, it will surface. You have 5 years and 100,000 miles to figure it out.
Silly question- Fire suit on- Not tossing arrows at dealer service departments:
Do bulletins (as opposed to recalls) show up at the dealership when a VIN/car is taken in?
Are they acted upon?
Do we need to ride a service department to fix our initial problem AND all bulletins and recalls at each visit or is just good "policy" for us to be best informed when we go in?
I figure the latter
