get what you want, if resale is your concern then you will lose everytime. I got the 3LT because I wanted the options. however if I wanted to race it and set it up for that a 1LT would be my choice. Z51 for me. A 3LT Z51 should be worth more in the future than a base car.

I recently looked into this. Using Kelly Blue Book values on a one year old corvette.
The Z51 package added $5500 to trade in value. There was no add specifically for 2LT or 3LT but it did add for some 3LT equipment like navigation.
You really shouldn't buy a Vette with resale in mind. It's a big ticket item with big ticket depreciation, not an investment.

I would rather own a 3lt than a 1lt Z51. As for resale who knows what the future values will be and really who cares.

I have a Z51 3LT but if I had to choose between your choices it would be the base stingray 3LT over the Z51 1LT I like my cars loaded with options!

Z51 only if I was tracking the car. On the street probably the difference in base vs. Z51 is negligible if anything, but the difference in interiors and options is very noticeable and functional.

I would get a Z51 for the performance. Not to mention I do not like the look of smaller wheels, brakes and unslotted roters. That is just me however. When ordering my corvette I knew I wanted Z51 the interior options I had to look at decided as after thought to getting Z51 package. I ended with 2LT.

just make the plunge and get the Z51 3LT.... it is not about the resale, it is the comforts of the 3LT and Handling of the Z51. You only live once. I am loving mine.

More precisely...Which option (Z51 or 3LT) will retain more of it's value?

The Z51 most likely, since the 3LT option will probably depreciate at a higher rate than the Z51 option.

When I sold my 09 Z51 to a HS teacher he did not care or know the difference, I think it does not make it or brake it when you sell it, it is more about the miles, condition and the looks. The 14 & 15's come with huge enough brakes without Z51 unless you want to track it and yes it has some other things. If you want to pay extra for the Magnetic Ride Control you must go Z51.

The Z51 is built for people who want to road course the car or blast through curves. If you dont plan on driving it like that, then get the one with the gadgets...

Depends on your planned use for the car. If it's track, autocross or such, the Z-51. If its for road trips or cruising, then 3LT.

As others state what about 2LT Z-51?

Me, I went with both and am glad I did. My original plan was 1LT Z51. By the time I came to order I convinced myself to get 3LT too.

Resale value depends what a future buyer would want! For example a 1LT misses a lot of things I would not buy a Vette without, i.e. memory seats and HUD among other items. Also the interior color. If Kalahari then the added dash and door panel color are worth it, IMO but if getting black a 2LT would get the added features and save money.
Guess when I bought in early 2013 that $2800 I paid for the Z51 was a bigger bargain than I realized if your resale numbers are correct! I got the 3LT with Kalahari interior and Z51 because that is what I wanted, don’t care about resale, will sell on my own in 4 years like I did my '08!
There are a number of folks getting a Z51 because of reading magazine reviews, etc, who will never push the car to those limits. Then they complain about brake dust (it is bad - need to clean the wheels after ~30 miles etc, even I put on Carbotech 1521 pads,) the time it takes to check oil levels and they don’t realize since the oil takes more time to get hot, it makes using the car for mostly very short trips not a good idea! The ride is stiffer than the base car because of the stiffer springs, larger front and added rear roll bar, even with mag shocks. Also, if you’re going to complain about the cold tire performance you can buy all-season run flats for the base car tire sizes, not the bigger 19/20’s. Cold tire "Chatter" as GM calls it is pretty bad and it appears to be worse with the 19/20's. Doesn't bother me I just turn the wheel about 1/2 turn less when pulling out of the garage on a cold morning! Not a bad workaround for the performance of the Z51 but if you're not willing to do that don't get one!
Suggest if you’re looking at picking between those two options you’ll be happier with the 3LT, which you can see every day! Love HUD!
