Default Should I wait for a 2016?

I am planning to order at 2015 Coupe 1LT Z51 this week. Someone I know from GM is helping me obtain a GM Executive Discount so I am very, very grateful and thankful.

My worry now is should I wait a couple of months and order a 2016? The dealers I have been talking to (#1 and #2 is the US) are quoting me a late April or early May delivery date. Am I making a mistake if I don't wait a month or two?

When do the 2016's start rolling off the line at the factory?

**Update 3/14/2015** After much deliberation, I ordered a 2015 Coupe 2LT Z51 today from Hendrick Chevy in Cary, NC. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the order will be picked up next Thursday when allocations are filled. If for some reason the order does not get picked up by the factory, then it will end up being a 2016. I am fine with it either way. Just glad to have the order placed as the deliberation has been fun but stressful. Now the anxiety of waiting begins. :-)

I ordered mine last week. I would really be shocked if they made a lot of changes worth waiting. plus i want my car for the summer.

2016s start production in aug is what i have read.

If you are getting a "real" GM Executive Discount, I would not wait and take full adavantage of the offer that you are getting. You cannot get a better price point than an GM Executive Discount.

My suggestion only. Jump all over this opportunity. I agree, we probably won't see too many changes, and if so, I would imagine they will be minimal with the basic design of the C7, very close too or indentical to the 2014 & 2015.

Yep, it is a true "Executive Discount". I will have it tomorrow. Now what I don't know if it is only good for 2015, or if I can use it for a 2016 model. I guess I will find that out when I get it tomorrow.

I am less worried about what might change as much as worried that I am buying what is essentially a hold over versus buying the current year. That being said, if there is a horsepower jump or a better A8 cooler, I would be pissed if I missed out on that. Other than that I am not worried about other options. But as others have said, I compare 2016 to the 2007 C6 model year. HP changes will likely come in 2017.

I would not expect big changes in next years model with the exception of Apple Play most likely being introduced. Depends on how big that would be to you. Good luck with your new car.

agreed. I would say get the '15 and take advantage of that discount now.

if anything, we'll see the big changes happen in '17 which could be more hp. I don't think 16 is bringing anything crazy besides apple play and android auto (which I wish I had, but oh well)

Well....do you want to drive a new Vette this summer or do you want to wait until next fall? That would be the only question I would be concerned about. I ordered 12/31 and picked up my car on 3/3. I am stoked! If it were me I would buy now and enjoy...who knows what tomorrow brings.

What's the executive discount in relation to supplier pricing?

My only concern, if I were you, is if the color changes. I am ordering Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic and am not certain it will make next year's cut. So, I pulled out all the stops to order a 2015........ all except paying more than MSRP. Got lucky and have my Z06 on order. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

You are getting such a deal seems like down the road trade value does not matter. If you flip cars frequently yes I would wait. But you have such a discount don't worry.

Nothing that new for 16 I'd expect. If you want Night Race Blue I'd jump now. My guess is it will be booted in 16.

Might be a premier edition of some sort coming out but with the strong demand for the Z06 right not especially the auto doubt we'll see a grand sport type.

Order now and enjoy driving the car all summer rather than dreaming of the minor updates you'll get to enjoy just in time for winter

The other thing to consider is there may be a price increase for the new model year.

No point in waiting, get what you want now, enjoy it now. Or you can wait for what may be or not in the way of changes. If you wait for the 2016 be careful as the 2017 could really have some changes so yep the wait goes on.................

Wow! I did not know 2015 orders close so soon. So I essentially have 2 weeks left to order a 2015?

If I put in an order on March 27th, would I still maintain the current pricing? Or will I be charged more?

Once I get the GM Executive Discount info today, I will know if I have to use it on a 2015 model or not. I don't want to wait, but I am not sure if everything will get sorted out in less than 2 weeks to get my order in.

I plan to keep the car for 5 years, but the way new things come out so quickly, who knows.

If the discount is for 2015 MY only, I would work really hard sorting out exactly what you want and place the order. I would not worry about price protection.

Your getting a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for a GM Executive Discount that very few people ever get. You must be very special or have had a very special situation to even receive one.

Take advantage of it!
