Almost bought a 2014 C7 coupe last week until we figured out it was Z51 with no MR. Every other available option including comp seats, CF roof, and all CF vents as well as a MGW shifter which to us completly transformed the 7 speed in a very positive way. Laguna Blue, 19/20 black wheels and yellow calipers, and black 3LT interior.

Anyway, $65K with 4800 miles and also with tinted windows and the entire vehicle was also plastic coated ($3400). Also had a Z06 grill and the Z06 style CF big spoiler in the rear. We guessed $86K new with all the mods. Very tempted.

Anyway, FWIW, really thought I wanted a vert again because of bad noise and turbulence with the lids off on two C4 coupes I previously owned. But I could not discern any such bad airflow at speed with the lid off this one and the lid is so big that I also felt like it was a vert unless I turned around to look over my shoulder. Now we are looking for a coupe for all the cargo capability on road trips. Also spent a day driving a C7 vert just to be sure about the coupe decision.

What is your opinion about the noise level in the coupe with top in place vs the vert with the top up?

Much quieter. We have a C5 vert so used to the added noise levels. Did expect the C7 vert to be quieter with the lid up than it was at freeway speed. But it wasn't bad.

Thanks, I was wondering after reading about owners installing FatMat behind the seats and in the cargo area of the coupe. I'm sure the runflat tires don't help.

I find the my 2015 C7 Coupe to be quite noisy with certainly road surfaces, especially exposed aggregate road surfaces. Smooth road surfaces I have no complaints buy sound deadening material would improve the noise levels inside the cabin/cockpit area.

I do believe that GM should consider a sound mat in the rear cargo area and behind the seats either as standard equipment or an option installed at the assembly plant.

I think it would be wise to install sounding deadening material of some sort in the rear cargo area and behind the seats.

There are many types of sound reducing products available, just complete some research.

Just in case I did not communicate well...

The C7 vert was quieter than the C5 vert we own with the rag tops up. I did expect the C7 vert to be even quieter than it is but it definitely is quieter than both the C5 & C6 Verts are with the tops up.

I thought the coupe was nicely quiet with the lid in place. But the wide open C7 exhaust is louder than our Corsa Sports on our C5. But, we consider those sounds to be music to our souls. No freeway drone on any of the C7s I've driven but the base vert did have a very slight droning tendency at about 55-60 MPH.
