Default C7 bugs?

I have had my sting ray for about a year now and generally like it
I have had some issues however that have not been resolved.

1. Drivers seat rubs against the center tunnel when moving forward and back making a nasty noise unbecoming a 74k car.
The dealers response has been that Chevrolet has no fix for this.
I have never had a car at any price that suffered from this defect.

2. The seat memory is erratic. Again No fix.

3. The TPM is off by 4 psi (low) I keep the pressures at the required 30psi resulting in my receiving frequent warnings of low tire pressure.
I have to continuosly acknowledge this warning message.
Again no fix per the dealer

Anyone else had any experience with these issues?

Ira

That's a bummer. I don't have any of those issues. Build date?

One can only speculate what gets updated, hardware and software, as a car's life progresses. Mine was built 2/2015. That said, it seems all of your issues should be easily rectified by the dealer.

Have you confirmed your air pressure gauge is accurate? Is it just once certain wheel that's off and the other three are correct?

Agree. Need at least a third reading to see what is really correct.

Mine was built in 3/2014 too. None of these same issues.

Sorry you're having problems.

Have you checked out the final solution video pertaining to the seat memory? If you haven't do a search and it'll probably fix your problem.

I have a motorcycle with TPMS and you can set the threshold for a low pressure warning through the CPU interface. See if GM can do the same thing next time its in for service.

For example, my Lonacre dial gauge reads within 1psi of both my cars' TPMS readouts, and a family member's Jeep I also checked it against. I now consider it to be accurate. To compare, it has read up to 6psi off from other gauges I've checked.

I have checked it with three different gauges and the dealer confirmed it was off by 4 psi as well.
The dealer told me that Chevy will only correct the defect if it is off by more than 4PSI.

I just had it to the dealer.
They no longer deny it is an issue but that Chevy does not have a fix for it yet. (seat memory)

They cannot correct the tpm monitor unless it is off by more than 4PSI.

Lucky me.

Where should I search?

The dealer thinks otherwise.

If you have an M7 there is a seat memory update that adds "ON IGNITION" to the seat memory recall. This moves the seat to memory settings when you push the start button. You don't have to mess with the door buttons which sometimes need held in and other times just pushed. Since you didn't define your seat memory issue, this could be the fix.

This will be no consolation, but my 2006 C6 had an erratic memory seat and the dealer never could fix it either despite repeated attempts over the 9 years I owned it. I suspect to this day there was a bad connection in the wiring harness under the seat, but the dealer was told my theory and never could fix the issue.

Regarding the TPM issue, sounds like your car was built with a bad batch of sensors, but not bad enough to be out of tolerance per GM. You could replace all four TPM sensors with new stock at your own expense. That's not right, but I would do it for my own sanity if it were me.

I've never heard of the seat rubbing issue either. Maybe try a little Teflon spray lube on the carpet or something? Maybe pull the seat and see if there is a bad seam on the side of the seat dragging on the carpeting?

Good luck.

Thanks Ron but the issue persists despite having that setting.

It's a seat alignment issue for which the dealer says Chevy is unwilling to address.
The seat needs to be moved a few mm towards the door.

I have to say that Chevy's customer service is not up to the germans or the japanese.
No one cares.

Not to be contentious but I bought a 74K chevy and the attitude that it can't be fixed is extremely disappointing.

I have owned Porsches, Audis, Mercedes and Acuras and never experienced anything like this.

The car came with the oil sump overfilled from the factory as well.
