Default Stingray Emblem alignment stencil

Rainy day - thinking about warmer weather when I can change over my emblems to the carbon flash black ones. Thought I would try to create a stencil/template to help with the alignment of the Stingrays. Used the new ones to trace an outline on a manila folder. Taped it to my wife's cutting board and cut it with a utility knife. Test fit on car - perfect!
But now, I have to figure out how to remove the existing emblem with the stencil on the car. Maybe it will work. Just wanted to post a potential tip. Will try to remember to post results.

I never had a problem using a line of painters tape,

tip: the fish does not go on paralell to ground, it tilts down at the head

Painter's tape was my original plan and its simpler than this. I was bored

Know about the stingray not being parallel with ground. The one that I am most concerned (but not much) is the "corvette" script on the rear.

Thanks.

Default Carbon Flash Emblems

I just switched my chrome emblems out for the carbon flash emblems.

I used kite string to run behind the chrome emblems to remove them after I used a blow dryer to heat it up a little.

The worst part of the job was removing the old adhesive.

I used painters tape around the stingrays.

The front was easy because of the indent.

I used electrical tape and a credit card to press the edges into the grooves top and bottom. Looks decent. May redo it when it's warmer

I used vinyl tape strip to cover the chrome strip on the grille but then I had a very good friend switch out my grille to a Z06 grille!
