Thanks for the replies, but that is information that I already know. I don't want to sound like I am disagreeing with anyone, but WHERE in the Chevrolet advertising does it say that the chrome wheels REPLACE the wheels that come with the ZF1 appearance package? It must be written somewhere; I just can't find it. Obviously the salesman who sold me the car didn't know that either. Buying a new car should be easy, shouldn't it?
Same as when I ordered black wheels for my Z51! Since the Z51 came with silver painted wheels did I get another set of black wheels for $500?? It doesn't say I don't get an extra set of wheels! Same issue for any wheel option, it’s not an extra set of wheels it’s the option cost. Chrome option is $1995 over whatever you orderd Z51 or ZF1 etc.
We’ll never convince you since that is what the salesman told you-but he was wrong!
A less expensive way to get the chrome wheels is to order the car with the silver wheels the do a chrome wheel exchange with WCC. The cost for the chrome wheel exchange is about $1,000. Thought GM, you are essentially paying $4,000. for chrome Z51 wheels and spoiler. For another $1,000., you could get the Z51 package that, among other goodies, includes NPP. Adding NPP and chrome wheels to the ZF1 package, will cost you MORE than the Z51 package.
I didn't want the extra Z51 track hardware or the spoiler so for about $2,300 I'm getting TSW wheels and Michelin AS/3 all season non run flats. And although there's not a huge demand for the orginal tires and wheels, I hope to sell them for $1,000 which is less than the cost of new tires.
Silver painted is the standard finish on all Corvette wheels. ( Base, ZF1, Z51, Z06) Chrome finish is an additional $1995 option on all style and size of Corvette wheels.
Your salesman and manager should have known this!! The only option where one can get additional wheels is a factory order accessory option for the Torque style wheels. The chrome version is a $4440 option over the silver ZF1/Z51 style wheel.

I can't imagine anyone agreeing with your original line of thought.
Shame on yet another ill informed/misguided (or potentially worse) salesman, and shame on any buyer expecting another set of wheels to be included.
It's unfortunate your salesman was misinformed. Mistakes happen. But I've never heard of buying an automobile and getting a second set of wheels. Where would they be stored during shipment from Bowling Green? In the hatchback? I'm pretty sure four wheels wouldn't fit back there.

Well, when you order the Nav system, you don't get the standard radio and the radio with Nav. When you order the competition seats, they come installed, and you don't get a set of the standard GT seats. Have you ever ordered a new car before? Almost no manufacturer gives you the original item, when you order a higher level option.
Yes, I have ordered a new car before. And when I pay for the higher level option, I DON'T have to pay for all of the lower level options like it shows on my invoice. Have YOU ordered a new car before?

Who gave you the old lower level parts when you ordered a new car with options?

Really? Think about that. The invoice lists standard equipment even though it is replaced by optional equipment. A perfect example is one that Mike gave above. The audio system with navigation replaces the standard audio system. You "paid" for the standard and then you paid for the upgrade. It so happens in the case of ZF1 and Chrome wheels, the chrome wheels are an option on top of the ZF1 option.
Does any company give you the stock wheels when you order the optional wheels? I can't think of a mfr that does…
Glen....I have NEVER seen a single MFR give you both sets....the price is always an UPGRADE to the standard wheel and if you were to buy the upgraded wheels as a stand alone purchase it will usually cost as much as twice or even three times as much as the price of the upgrade.
Just an additional thought. When I ordered my Z51 vert in the fall of 2013 the chrome wheels were a $1995 addition at that time too. I know a lot of folks like the black but I am a chrome wheel guy. I also knew about the summer tire situation so I ordered an additional set of Z51 chrome wheels from another dealer where I get parts wholesale. This was so I could mount all season tires for cold weather use. Just to let you know if you think $1995 is high the wholesale cost of chrome Z51 wheels is $2,841.60 plus you need the sensors for another $165.60. I know I could have gone with some aftermarket wheels for less but like the original wheels.
I can see where the OP is confused as in this situation there are 2 upgrades-the ZF1 pkg to get the upgraded wheels and the chrome upgrade to get the chrome-both at 2k a pop. In the examples given, such as gt seats to competition seats, there is only 1 upgrade.
However, logic would didtate that you are not going to get 2 sets of wheels.
Two things come to mind here. First, the ZF1 appearance package is not standard equipment.
Second, the salesperson told me I would get all of the things listed in the ZF1 apperance package. We all agree that the salesperson was wrong. I am a little upset that he told me that when we agreed on the price, and then changed it later without changing the price. Put youself in my shoes and tell me how you would feel.
As I said earlier, if the Chevrolet advertising would have stated this better, there would not be anything to bring up here. If you notice, it DOES say that the Nav package does have to be in cars ordered with certain options. They didn't do that with the chrome wheel option. At least not where I can see, and obviously not where the salesperson or the sales manager could see.
On another note, I do value other persons opinions, but I don't see any reason to use this forum to be sarcastic to someone or say 'shame on you' for expecting what a salesman told you that you would get.
$4K for a set of chrome wheels in addition to the standard silver painted wheels is IMO, outrageous but obviously many folks feel it is worth the money. Oh, forgot you also get a spoiler.

Well, it sounds like you and your salesman may have mis-communicated, but most folks would understand that, when you choose an "option" for a new car, you don't also get the parts the option replaces. For example, when you choose the competition seat option, you don't also get the GT seats in boxes when you pick up your car.
What you got was an option on an option, i.e., the chrome twin-spoke wheel option on top of the ZF1 option, which had itself added 19" - 20" silver painted twin spoke wheels to the base car, which would have come with 18" - 19" silver painted single-spoke wheels had there been no options.
The Chevy literature spells this out rather vaguely by simply labeling the chrome wheels and the ZF1 appearance package as "options," and leaves it to common understanding of what that word means.
