Greetings. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the speedometer connector at the transmission? My new 2015 Z51 developed a transmission fluid leak at 400 miles, ended up being the cooler line not being seated and secured properly. Dealer found and fixed that with no problem but just picked up the car and the speedometer is now reading backwards - for instance I noticed at 30mph it reads 190mph, 40mph reads 180mph and when you first start all dials "zero" - the zero starts pegged well over 200, down to 20 than back pegged well over 200. The digital speedometer is still accurate. I would suspect it's simply the polarity of a connector near the cooling line but I'm wondering if it is something I can simply unplug and re-plug correctly. I'd rather not make another trip to dealer if it's a simple fix. Any expert knowledge in this area? Thanks.

yes at my first glance about a mile down the road I chuckled, then reality quickly sat in - disappointment. not the end of the world, just one of those things especially if it's a quick disconnect and reconnect.
thanks Theta!
You know... I was right in the middle of giving you the connector information, and I thought "you really can't screw up this connector - it's too keyed and unique".
So, I popped into another section. You won't like this, but I think I've identified your gremlin.
Well at least you know the exact problem you're having! quick fix probably. I don't think those software updates take long
You're quite right - the USB update takes around 25 minutes at the maximum. It's surprisingly slow for a ~450MB file, but it's still transmitting through the BUS at serial speed.
But still - that's something you can just wait around for. Print out this advisory and take it with you. I can give you a full PDF if you'd like.
If you call beforehand, reference the PI and make sure they have a USB stick ready for you. They need to log into SPS and grab the file - that's the most time-consuming part.
Oh my. Really? That sounds like a pretty darn precise procedure. Well Theta, I can't thank you enough for helping identify it - would have been lost otherwise. You are correct, not too happy about it. Guess we'll see how it turns out, always had a low tolerance for this kind of gremlin stuff - hope nothing else can get screwed during the process. The timing of this is just so weird - fixed a transmission leak and then this odd ball reprogramming thing surfaces when it was not there before - just odd. Anyway, Theta you're the best, thank you!
Would definitely appreciate a pdf, that way I can provide the absolute detail - thank you again!

Also, I can't resist the urge to tell you to drive through a school zone at a very slow speed and take a picture with the speedo and the 15MPH sign in the background.
Would be a priceless memory.
"Sir, do you know how fast you were going?" "Well, officer, the car said 210 - what did you get me at?"

I'd love to give you the file to do it yourself, but with the calibration logs they keep... you need to take her in. Sorry!
Your car has a history according to the VIN of what calibration files have been installed (and there are several different subsystem IDs).
I would hate to have the OP blow his warranty over something as simple as a 25 minute calibration upload. Not a big problem for us no-warranty-in-sight people.
Thanks to Theta (BIGTIME!) I was able to have an intelligent discussion with the shop foreman at my corvette dealer (who is awesome by the way - rare I know but true). The update that Theta referenced was indeed applicable to my build. It was performed today without issue - a surprisingly long process. I just wanted to report back that everything seems to be 100% - all good. Car feels solid as it should. I had to reset a few configurations but no complaints. I didn't drive it very far and am eager now to start putting some miles on it since the weather will be cooperating soon (although it is supposed to snow tonight ).
Theta, thank you again sir! And also to those who replied - I particularly liked the idea about the speed limit sign in the background while the speedo reads 190! Unfortunately I didn't get to pull that off.

That's a lot of cars that could be susceptible to that. Says everything built before 3/5! My oh my.
