I've created a monster
The first C7's I saw in person were at a "showing of the new Stingray" a year or so ago. When I first laid my eyes on the adrenaline red, 3lt interior, I was forever hooked. It was like you hear about baby ducklings. The first thing they see, automatically becomes their "mother image", and they follow it without thinking. Well, I was hooked and then I had to try and pick an exterior color which would go with it. You all know there are many to choose from and are probably driving one yourself.
Red, black, silver, white, blue etc. etc. how do you decide. I bounced back and forth probably a hundred times over the next year plus, while trying to find a way to buy one.
I finally decided on arctic white after another one of those moments! This moment was dropping by Stingray Chevrolet and seeing an arctic white Z06 with black racing stripes. I was immediately smitten once again and knew what I had to have. Now to find the exact car and be able to afford it. I found it obviously!
You must understand, I NEVER liked racing stripes before that "eureka moment". It was an immediate transformation for me and has now led to my problem that
I have created for myself. An incredible number if people agree with me on how the car looks.
Here it is. (You've seen it before in other posts.) I've taken at least 500 picture so far. (I'm like that, I admit it.)
I live in the Tampa Bay area and there are quite a few Stingrays and Zo6's around but you don't see them that often.
You may very well identify with the following comment. EVERYWHERE I GO, I am besieged with gawkers, ogglers and people taking pictures and anything to do with my car. It is not most of them time, it is all the time All ages and ethnicities. Everyone talks about the stunning contrast of colors on the sculpted body. I've had people walk into trees not paying attention where they were going trying to get a better look as I pass. A lady just yesterday while I was sitting in church waiting for the service to start, said, "I just have to tell you your care is the most beautiful car I have ever seen". I have been admiring it for the last several weeks and have just now worked up the courage to share my thoughts with you. I have been snapping pictures of it and sending them to my friends all over the country.
I could easily give you 50 more anecdotal stories but the point is made. Everyday everywhere I go. Every expletive, in the human language has been used as a term of endearment toward the car. Restaurant owners moving parking cones to keep my car safe - yes that actually happened. I couldn't make that up.
Now, I am not new to corvettes, I owned some incredible cars from the C2 era. Body off frame restorations, Bloomington Gold, NCRS Top Flight etc. None of those cars attracted anywhere near what this car does.
I'm sure I am but one example of this kind of acceptance from the public. To say GM got this car right is the "understatement of the century". Thanks, Tadge
p.s. this car will not allow you to be a "wall flower". It forces you to "meet the public".
I'm having a ballllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll l!!!!!!
This is what is causing my problems!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You are a genius, excellent choice. Months back I had posted how I get a kick out of how kids react to the car. They stop what they are doing, their mouths drop open and they stare at the car, usually pointing at it as it goes by.
Your car looks great, enjoy it and all the attention. You're a Beast now Plumalan, roll with it.
.....which just widens the Permagirn! lol
.....which just widens the Permagirn! lolFunny story..last summer, while parked in A very popular area in Lewiston NY...my wife and I were sitting in our parked Vette..preparing to leave..this young teenager who was with a bunch of friends, admiring my car..he came up to the window, and said to me"dad, dad , is that you dad?? It was good for a laugh......although I wanted to ask him what his mothers name was...'cuz I might of been...but then I had my wife with me and it wouldnt of gone over with her very well! LOL

I think I might have passed you in traffic this past Saturday, on I4 right before malfunction junction. I was in my 900 HP "loud" Crystal Red Metallic C7 with black wheels. It looked like the same color combo as yours.
Was that you?
And I know what you are saying about the attention. Its died down a bit now because they have been out for a while but mine was delivered on the first truckload of 14's that were delivered to Stingray back in Sept of 2013. Talk about attention.... I got 3x the attention than I ever did in my Gallardo.
