Default Balnk DIC Solution

Has anyone experienced a problem with the gauge cluster going completely dark - no digital, no analog? I've experienced this problem 2x with my 2014 Z51. After shutting the car off and leaving it alone for a period of time, it begins to work again. Strangely, the center screen for radio, NAV and such worked just fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Referring to my above highlighted earlier post, I went to the dealer yesterday and they found that Chevrolet just released a new IPC software update which corrected the DIC problem. For those who replied to my original post, thank you very much. For those who are experiencing this problem, you may want to inform your dealer of this update, saving you and them the headache of replacing the screen.

Thanks, I had the same issue at 150 miles. The dealer replaced the entire DIC which did not solve the problem. The folks at GM Tech in Detroit asked me for a video of the sequence of events leading to the dash going blank. (I could duplicate it with regularity by opening the rear hatch before opening the driver side door, then closing the hatch.) They were able to duplicate it on 2 vehicles in Detroit and promised to be working on it over the months mine would be in storage for the winter.
It looks like they have found the problem. Could you let me know what is Chevrolet's IPC # so I can let them know in a couple of weeks when I take mine in.

Slap him around a little he'll wake up and come to life. Just don't use any harsh "solution" on it, DICs can do this from time to time...

Unfortunately, there was no IPC code # on the service record and, to add insult to injury, it resurfaced this morning. I opened the hatch before the driver's door and had no DIC. I give up as apparently Chevy doesn't have a clue of what they're doing. Sorry.

Did you use the button on the outside of the car? I was told in another thread that might be the issue. I've stopped using that button and have not had the problem since.

I did use the outside button so I'll need to use the inside button from now on. Thanks.

I just had my screen go blank. I did go into the trunk first when I left my second last place. The last time I started it I opened the door first and I was getting vibrating pixels etc for ten minutes and ten minutes later it was OK.

I guess I'll go to El Dealer in the morning and see about software updates. Also, will I have to leave the car or will they remove the whole unit and let me go with the car till it's fixed?
