This is a question for those of you that have lived with the PDR for a while. If GM packaged the PDR as a stand alone option would you still order it or just stick order the NAV ? I know it is currently packaged with the NAV system but curious what the take rate would be if they removed it and reduced the NAV price ? I have heard its not the best resolution camera and other issues but nothing really comprehensive unless I missed it.

Its not the best resolution camera, wasn't intended to be a movie maker though the movies can be breathtaking. If you want nice HD movies then GoPro. But GoPro won't record your speed, rpm, current gear, and lateral G forces. Plus you get vale mode, if you ever need it. And its built into the car, not added on with a suction cup. Maybe not worth $1k to the masses but its pretty cool to have. Another way to think of it is $1k spread over the life of a loan isn't that much more money a month anyway, when financing the bulk of a $60-$70k or more car.
Audio sound is absolutely terrible and the video could be better but is acceptable. When combined with the Cosworth Toolbox, the package is awesome because of what it can do. I would say it is a must have for anyone who tracks their car or is a tech junkie like me.
I was take-it-or-leave-it until yesterday, which was my first track event in this new car. Now I can't say enough great things about PDR and how absolutely essential it is if you intend to ever track your car or participate in even one high-performance driving event. Ever since I rolled back into my driveway yesterday, I've been playing back the track runs on my laptop and analyzing technique and the particulars of the car's condition. Which worked better: automatic or manual with paddle-shifters? Now I know (ans: the latter). Which worked better: track mode or sport mode (ans: in manual with paddle shifters, it doesn't matter). Where best to brake, shift, accelerate? Where is the "best line" to follow? I tried to learn all this while on the track yesterday, but now that I have a recording of all my attempts (and errors) that I can review at my leisure, assess different approaches, and apply the lessons learned next time. This is an invaluable tool.

I use it on every drive. I have made a lot of videos of other car club member's cars on our cruises when they were in front of me and they have really enjoyed watching them.
....
If given the choice, I'd order the Nav but not the PDR and use the extra $1000 elsewhere.
I'm the opposite! I could care less about Nav and haven't used mine once, but I like the PDR. If you EVER get on a fun twisty road it's fun to collect the video and driving stats. I track and autocross, so I really like the feature.
Valet mode sucks. Too easy for someone to pull carpet up from right rear area and disconnect battery.
Just got my car back from windows being tinted, valet mode was off, and 2 extra miles on odometer.
I do like that I can record my trips though. That feature is worth it to me. Don't have to worry about a portable camera left in the window if I leave the car.

You didn't wait while the windows were being tinted ?

You're saying that if you disconnect and then reconnect the battery while in valet mode, after reconnecting the battery valet mode is off?

That would be correct. Valet mode was off when I picked the car up.
I didn't wait for the windows to be tinted because it was also in to wrap the front end and rocker panels with Suntek. That part alone took them over a day to do.

Hmm, that's disheartening. Two things though: you have proof they tampered with it so call them on it. Also, why would they go to the trouble (and risk) to only drive it 2 miles? Something odd here.

Considering what a pita it is to get to the battery, most tint shops know how to tape the door jam switch to keep the windows from indexing.
