Question About Steering Wheel Bezel.....
To change out the C7 steering wheel bezel, are you required to remove the airbag or is there a way to remove the bezel and replace it without doing so? I hate dealing with airbags etc. im always worried they are going to go off.

My airbag has been out 1/2 dozen times. It is very simple.
Pull the negative from the battery, hold brake for 2 minutes, put an Allen wrench in the hole on the right side of wheel and push so the retention spring moves inward which releases the airbag from the right. Repeat for left side and pull airbag out. Release the yellow and green wires on back by pulling up the lock on each clip.
Once the yellow and green conectors are off. Disconnect the ground wire. Now the airbag is out.
Now diconnect the two connectors for the switches on the bezel. You push the tab on the connectors and pull stright out. Pull the bezel up gently working evenly. It is just held in by friction. It will come right off. Transfer the two controls to the new bezel and reverse procedure to put back together.
Wheel does not need to be removed.
Allow 40 minutes to an hour for this but I have done it so many times, I can do it in about 15 minutes.
