so what options do we have to protect from rock chips? Those vinyl transparent bras are waaaaay expensive and after a few years they yellow. (I have a white vette and a yellowing bra would look butt ugly).
I have XPEL Ultimate on my C7. It's nice (if properly applied) and has a 10 year product warranty, but don't expect it to deflect larger rocks. If serious rock deflection is required, I recommend both XPEL and a Speed Lingerie bra.

Any suggestions?
Newer films, like Xpel Plus, don't yellow. And they look a whole lot better than any front end bra. Xpel does sell a temporary film for short term or track use, which is a good option for a long trip or temporary use.

OK I guess I have some homework to do. Thanks, I will check it out.

Because they are relatively inexpensive to purchase (at least in the case of the GM bra) and they provide very good protection to the front end of the car from fairly good sized rocks and other debris.
Are there drawbacks to the vinyl bras - sure. I take mine off the car should it start to rain, but other than that I have never had my GM bra do any damage to the paint on any of my three C5s I've owned. And they do not cover a huge area on the hood.

I drove my C5 from Louisiana to BG once during Love bug season and the bra saved my front end. The chemicals in those bugs eat straight through the paint. When I am traveling, I am have been much more concerned about protecting my car then I am the latest fashion trend on CF. I am not sure what I am going to do to protect the C7.
I purchased a GM Bra for my 2015 SG Coupe for the drive home (Idaho) from the Museum. It installed around the headlights much like the factory bra for the C6. The headlight fit is much tighter on the C7, so much so that I would have had to distort the panel to get the tabs to fit between light and panel. The thing was a total pain to install and any place a tab had be inserted required prying and distorting a panel. I decided that risking cracking paint or panel wasn't worth it. I did get a major rock chip when a Canadian HWY department semi loaded with gravel passed a line of folks waiting on road construction. A bra would not have helped as it hit above where the bra would have covered.
Theres always the novistretch mask which is very easy to install. I bought it just for long road trips and I am having Xpel Ultimate installed just so I dont get rock chips driving around the city and highways.
I had a GM bra fall apart after a single use. When I returned the bra for a new one I was given a refund instead of an exchange. The dealer indicated that GM was having problems finding a supplier that could manufacture the bra to GM quality standards.
Sold the GM bra after one use. Got a novistretch, a great device with no downsides. Vendor here. Don't give a damn how it looks when I'm doing long distance. Comes off with one hand when I get there....
Yes bras are ugly but stone chips are worse! I had a bra for my C6 and it was okay but I think I'm going for a Novistretch bra for my Stingray simply because I can take the hideous thing off and wash it when I get to my destination. Plus they are really ugly on a white car. The XPEL is fine but too expensive for me.
