Default MSRP plus second sticker?

Hello,
I just registered and I am looking forward to buying my first Corvette. I have other sports cars now, but really like the C7.
Can someone give me some input on the pricing? I have never paid MSRP for any car, let alone a premium on top of that.
It appears to me that there should be other options rather than limiting myself to the local boys?
If this is already being discussed in other places on this forum, I apologize, maybe someone can direct me to that part of the forum.
Thanks so much.

Do not pay MSRP. Call Kerbeck and get it for considerably less than MSRP. I think I paid $6800.00 under.

Search "supplier pricing" and "credit union member discount". They are one in the same. Go with a large volume dealer if you want the car in a reasonable amount of time. You can build your car on this site with the discount visible. This is the route I and many others have taken.

No need to apologize. Read down the first page of C7 Gen and notice all the topics on price, cost, dealers, etc. You will find out in short time that there are forum dealers, supplier pricing, credit union pricing (same/similar to supplier), etc. It's all "self-directed." Welcome and enjoy the reading. After you read, you may have questions. Post them, sometimes in a new thread.

Where are you located? There may be a Forum Dealer close to you! Here's a few examples:

Kerbeck Chevrolet - Atlantic City, NJ
MacMulkin Chevrolet - Nashua NH
Reliable Chevrolet - Springfield MO
Buds Chevrolet - Saint Mary's OH
Boardwalk Chevrolet - Redwood City CA

And by all means, use the GM Supplier Discount (if available) or Credit Union Discount. You will save about 9% off MSRP.

Buying from a Forum Supporting Dealer will be the best experience you ever had buying a vehicle. A number of options will be available to you from buying off their lot to ordering the car from them.

Thanks so much.

As others have stated, lots of buying options at reduced pricing. Check around within a 50-75 miles radius of your home for all the Chevy dealers. Likely one will honor Supplier, Credit Union or Military discounts. If not go with a forum supported dealership.

I refused to pay full MSRP that some local dealers demanded and laughed if they had a "bump sticker" on the car. It speaks volumes to me when dealership's add $1000-$1500 up charges for market adjustment or paint sealant. All I see is a gold tooth, diamond pinky ring and a polyester leisure suit. I do business elsewhere.

Let me guess... You're somewhere on the west coast. Dealers there seem to think that every buyer is a sucker and that their dealership is the only place to buy a C7.

Forget local and go with one of the Forum dealers. You can have an in inventory car delivered and still save thousands. An ordered car an be setup for courtesy delivery (shipped directly to a local dealer who does the PDI) or you can do Museum Delivery and a nice road trip home. Still saving thousands off MSRP, not to mention the rip-off "Market Adjustment".

Also don't forget Les Stanford. There in Dearborn, Michigan. Ask for Dennis Tap.

Thank you all for your input!
I'll be glad to work with a forum supporting dealer. I am in the Seattle area, is there a forum supporting dealer? If so, please pm me. I'll be willing to go on a road trip but it should be less than 600 miles one way. Thanks again.

I bought mine from Jet Chevrolet in Federal Way, because they honored the GM Employee pricing. You are correct that almost every dealer around Seattle charges a premium for C7s, and as much as $10K over MSRP. There must be a lot of people that will pay that...although I don't understand it.

Anyway, I also was working with Lee Johnson for a period of time. LJ would also honor the discount. Speedway in Monroe was willing to go down to MSRP, if you join the Seattle Corvette club. Before I found Jet, LJ, and Speedway, no one (and I talked to at least 15 local dealers) would go below MSRP.

Based on my research I agree, if you are not eligible for GM discounts, you would be better off buying out East and having the car delivered out here. There are lots of posts about this sort of thing. You can probably save at least $5-6k off MSRP. The single biggest reason I would recommend this is all the dealers within your 600 mile radius are small time dealers. It might take you months to order a car if that's was in your thinking. Taking from stock is a whole different deal obviously.

Good luck. Take your time and find the deal that is right for you.

No need to limit yourself to a 600 mile radius. You can order and do a courtesy delivery to a local dealer. Courtesy delivery is typically $250 - $500. See Courtesy Delivery Enrolled Dealers to find potential local dealers for courtesy delivery.

I totally agree. Love road trips in our Corvettes. Did Route 66 in our C6 and did the entire Natchez Trace Parkway after our NCM Delivery of our C7.

However, the OP wants to stay within 600 miles:

I bought my C6 from that MT dealer. Fly in, drive home. Ken Fichtner did a first-class job!

But I was so excited, I hardly slept the night before. Drove straight home 500 miles. Very exhausted. I should've spent a night on the road.

Ken went the extra mile to help me with a GMPP quote even when he couldn't sell in Florida. Good guy in my opinion.
