have any of you all replaced the original battery? If so, what did you go with?
Have not replaced mine yet but have been looking for what I would do since October 2013 when I got my C7! My battery showed a low voltage from when I got the car ~12.4 volts. Even bought a charger like GM sells, it charges up to 12.9 but after the surface charge is gone back to ~12.4! Like I did with my C6 battery which actually developed a leak, looked at replacing it with an Optima glass mat battery. However the post configuration for a C7 must be the exact same configuration as the AC Delco since there is a power PC board that attaches to the positive terminal. The Optima will not work. Late in 2014 Sears introduced their model: Model # 50748, Item # 02850748000P This is the description: The DieHard 48 Gold AGM Battery truly outshines its competitors, thanks to its cutting edge AGM technology, lightning fast recharge, and its ability to retain the maximum amount of electrolytes, produce more power and endure harsh conditions. It has twice the life of its competitors because it applies technology that protects it from the inside out. Ordinary batteries crash quicker from spilling and losing electrolytes. They're sensitive to vibration and are slow to recharge. This battery is 20 times more resilient to vibration and recharges twice as fast. AGM technology allows the battery to consume fewer electrolytes and holds on to as many of them as possible. It supplies your car with a lot more charge to keep up with daily demands, and with 250 quality control checks...
Since Sears does not make batteries, assume others will offer as it’s probably made my Johnson Controls or similar manufacturer.
My battery has not failed to start the car and have not used a charger since I tried in October 2013! In fact this past summer was gone on vacation for 2 ½ weeks. When I got back the car started fine. Checked the battery voltage the day after driving the car and still 12.4 volts! I no longer check or worry but there is little doubt I have a week cell, IMO. I’d buy this DieHard at the first sign of a starting issue!
i was about to order the optima yellow top!, I'll look into the die hard.
As expected, just checked the Optima website, they don't have one that fits a C7. Optima is now owned by Johnson Controls. They make and supply many companies with brand labled car batteries.
What is the problem with your battery?
Now that optima are made differently than they were several years ago, several across have resulted in premature battery failure. Do a Google search for "Optima battery failure". A much better choice is the Odyssey battery. it's been used in Marine applications instead of the Optima. Id try the pc1500. Odyseey makeS the sears die hard AGM too.

I also got my C7 in Oct. 2013 and have similar charging results. I am interested in how well this Sears battery fits.
My C5 battery had a leak and I found that there is a computer module below it. Luckily, I didn't have a problem with it.
Optima is no more reliable than other batteries.
I have had good luck with AC Delco Professional grade batteries. I bought one with a 50 month free replacement warranty, and never had to buy another battery.
Had nothing but good to say about EverStart Batteries. Consumer Reports always rates them high.

I just bought a 14 C7 with 5K miles and lovin it already, but...
I bought a 14 C7 with 5K miles two days ago and lovin it, but two minor things really are bugging me. First is the bloody thing often, but not always, goes into 4th gear when I try to shift from 1st to 2nd. Was that some kludge to meet gov't MPG minimums? I didn't buy the car for economy and I can bloody well go from 1st to 4th on my own should I choose to do so.
The second, very minor annoyance, is the electrically controlled parking break. I'd much prefer a manually operated lever like I have on my C6. It's really useful when stopped on an upgrade slope and some ****** is stopped only a foot or so behind my vehicle. With my hand I can ease off the hand brake as I let of on the clutch with no roll back. On the C7, I have to have my foot on the brake pedal then take it off and quickly hit the gas. This sometimes results in rolling back short distance.
In all other aspects I really love the car. It far exceeds my expectations. Chevy definitely nailed it with this model.

Funny about the battery being over the computer! In the C6 they had the center of the battery tray open with a plastic tunnel that the Service Manual said was to avoid acid getting on the electronics in case of a leak!
The Sears battery top looks like the AC Delco so combined with Sears saying it fits should work fine. It is the same battery used in some European cars. Don't think I'd trust Sears to install. Saw one comment on older Vette with battery mounted in the rear that duck tape works!
As mentioned my battery is working OK so I'll not get a new one until there is a starting issue.

Yes that is the EPA mileage improver! Get a CAGS eliminator, $25 and easy install. Just have to jack up the right rear.
I have gotten used to the electronic brake, treat it like a mechanical. It is supposed to have a Hill Hold feature but I find it inconsistent. You can set manually and release manually as you start to engage the clutch.

The electric parking brake offers the best of all worlds when sitting on a steep hill in traffic. Set the parking brake and then when ready to move just use the accelerator and clutch normally. The parking brake will release on its own as soon as you begin to move forward. There is zero need to touch either the brake pedal or the parking brake switch in such situations.
To be safe, just let the preceding car get 15-20 feet ahead before you begin to accelerate. Just let it happen, don't try to finesse the release.
I'm a bit puzzled that you would even ask. Why does a C7 need a new battery?
Shouldn't the factory installed battery work for at least 5 or 6 years, even in harsh weather?
accidently dropped it and it is now leaking. I just went with an original ac delco since I didn't want to get something that wasn't going to work . thanks for the input guys

What did you use to get it out? Were you using Duct Tape someone said they used for their C6 with rear battery mount?
I have an AC Delco battery in my 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition. The battery was installed in 2011, and is now 4 years old. The battery is connected to a CTEK3300 smartcharger all the time when not being driven. The battery has never failed me, and there have never been any related electrical gremlins reported.
There is nothing wrong with the AC Delco brand and the battery that is installed in the Corvette C7 should last for many years if properly maintained using a battery smartcharger of your choice. GM has selected the CTEK brand and sells a battery maintainer for $100 MSRP. CTEK smartchargers can be purchased on Amazon.com. if you don't have one for under $70.00.
I suggest the CTEK MUS 4.3 - 8 step smartcharger for battery maintenence.

I'm still driving a C6. Has the original battery and it is now 6 years old. Works fine, but I live on the north side of Houston. Maybe the milder weather has a lot to do with it.
Incidentally, I was gone for 45 days, and did not run the car until I had been home for 3 days, so it sat without a charger for 48 days and started just like it was new. Go figure.
