I am sitting at Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, Florida while they service my 2014 C7. A walk through the showroom revealed this 2015 C7 3LT. I have to admit that I like the car, but come on. The MSRP is $93,500. Yikes. The paint alone is a $10K add. No way would I pay a price like that!
Love Lime Rock Green, this not so much. Its a tuner car color more fitted for a Honda.
Non standard colors devalue the car when you go to sell or trade them in. In this case, you have a VERY limited buyer base for such a unique color, and a buyer base that will not pay extra for such a car on a resale. Trading this type of color in, seriously devalues the trade in value. So you pay premium price only to take a beating later. If you put all of this together, you will pay about 20k for the paint and loss about 10K on the trade in. Not worth it.
That is not a standard Corvette color. Why anybody would want to pay a premium for it and then lose big time when they sell it is beyond me.
Some people have deep enough pockets - they see something they like, they buy for THEMSELVES and have little to no concern for resale. I can't "do that" - but I can understand it.
It's a color match to one of Lamborghini's colors and it's a spectacular job done in-house. It's certainly not for everybody. Stingray is my local dealer...glad to have them.
EDIT: Also note it has custom headers, exhaust and more I believe.
