Default RECALL question

It’s my understanding that the “OUT OF POSITION, ANTI-SIPHON” recall can take 10 to 11 hours to do a full repair? Can anyone confirm this?

If it fell into the tank, yes. Otherwise, no.

I had mine done here is the way it was explained to me. If the Anti-Siphon hose falls into the tank on the drivers side then it is a 10 to 11 hour job. If the hose can be seen attached and not in the tank by the tech when he props open the flip gas door and looks down with a flash light 30 minutes.

You would think that GM would come up with a device that could see into the tank and grab the screen (something like a doctor might use for orthoscopic surgery). If you could turn an eleven hour labor job into one hour each for some small percentage of the 3000 cars recalled that the screen fell, it might be cost effective. Ten hours at $60~100 equals $600~1000 per unit with the fallen screen. They could have just one & transfer it to dealers on a request basis.

Just had mine done in less than an hour. My grid was still in place. Most have been I believe.
