Default NPP baffles

I just noticed last night that only the baffle on the passenger side of the car is closed when the car is off. I was thinking they would be closed on both sides of the car when not in sport or track. Is this normal? I'm at work now so I can't check to see what happens when I start the car until later.

Mine remain open when the car is off. They close (depending on selected mode) once the car is started.

Same here. That is my understanding of how they are supposed to operate, and why pulling the fuse makes them stay open all the time. It takes the car running and feeding them power to close them.

The side that is closed is stuck, either the mechanical valve or its electronic actuator. You might try tapping the bottom of the pipe with a mallet in that area to see if it will snap open. It's not an electrical circuit problem. The dealer will likely have to replace the muffler assembly or possibly just the actuator. Let us know what it turns out to be.

Okay so I just got home from work, and as I said before when the car is off one NPP baffle is open the other closed when the car is shut down. When I start the car in tour they both close. When I go into sport or track they both open. I know you guys said when your cars are off both baffles are closed on your cars. Being the baffles operate correctly to match the mod the car is in I'm not going to worry about one open and one closed when the car is shut down. Maybe they changed the baffle sequence on later cars? My car had a TPW of 3/23/15.

My 2015 Z06 both baffles are open when the car is shut down. When I start it in Tour they both close. When I start it in Sport or Track they both stay open. Again when I shut it down they are both open and remain open !

Sorry i misquoted the previous guys. They seem to be the same as you both open while shutdown. Strange I have one open one closed when shutdown but works correctly in different mods while running.
