Default C7 brownstone interior

What is the suede used on the inst. panel, door panels, console? Is it real leather or synthetic material? Also, On hard surfaces, what is leather, what is vinyl?

Its not sueded leather, its microfiber. Not sure about what is leather, but I believe the seatimg surfaces, dash, and door trim is leather.

My understanding is that with the exception of the suede material, everything is what it looks like. If it looks like leather it is leather, looks like CF it is CF, looks like aluminum it is aluminum......and if it looks like plastic........

Yes it's a synthetic material called Alcantara, very durable and wears well.

Alcantara is a proprietary fabric patented and produced by only one supplier, in Japan, if I remember correctly. It's very expensive and long wearing, and is used in many of the high very high end European models.

Never understood the marketing of brownstone. One needs to pay the significant 3LT up charge for real Napa leather but then the majority of it is replaced with non leather suede ( it is not Alacantra either ).

Yup, and then you pay $395 for the sueded inserts and another thousand+ for the custom Brownstone John Caravaggio steering wheel. I'm a crazy one for sure!

I pulled out some production numbers I saved. 485 C7's were produced in all Brownstone leather. 1,492 with the suede option.

Same deal I polished the carbon fibre dash. different Caravaggio wheel the light color is the color of the stitching. I did not get the seat inserts because I am old and the leather surface is easier to get out of the car.

Alcantara is just a trade name for microfiber suede. Ultrasuede is another trade name. Both are pretty much lost their Trade name status and have become the common names given to microfiber suede.

The microfiber suede will actually wear at least as good as leather and it is a better seating surface in a sports car because your butt stays planted better instead of sliding around on the leather.

Love my Brownstone, and I did not opt for the suede option.

I am rather surprised that just over 3x more people opted for the suede.

Love my Brownstone with Sueded Microfiber inserts. I went with the Competition Seats and go the additional upgrade to the Sueded Microfiber steering wheel, shift **** and boot. Love the way that steering wheel feels.

I was watching a video about Lamborghini, who uses Alcantara a lot. They use it because the video said that it virtually will never wear out.

i got my 2015 shark grey with brownstone and suede inserts and just love the look.

i enjoy the brownstone as it is very pleasing to my eye and give me a little something my last 5 corvette never had, some eye candy inside the cabin while just cruising.
