2015 3LT has the PDR, which is by far the biggest difference. Not available in 2014.
Other 2015 additions were available 8-speed auto, new exterior colors, NPP on all Z51 (with new Engine Sound Management settings), optional machine face split spoke wheels, optional carbon flash badges, HD radio deleted, and a few very minor tweaks to the DIC displays. Maybe I missed other small things...

It's not a simple question as there are lots of little differences between the two years and it really depends on what options that come with the car. For instance, the navigation is a lot cheaper on the 2014, but it doesn't come with the PDR. If the 2014 doesn't have navigation, then that difference doesn't come into play. Post the options the 2014 is equipped with and we can give you more a better answer.

Like previously said the 3LT 2015 Z51 will have PDR, available 8 speed auto trans, and will have WiFi. The 2015 Z51 package costs more but now includes the NPP exhaust. From a visual standpoint you can't tell a similar equipped 2014 from a 2015. The big difference is the $$$$$$.

Since the 2014 is a year older the discount needs to be a lot more than the discount on the 2015. If you can get 12% off a 2015 then the 2014 should match that plus the depreciation you will have when you drive a soon to be 2year old car off the lot IMO. You might consider a used 2015. I got a 3lt vert with 7k miles for $61500 where the list was $75,400. That is almost 20% off.

I'm now a believer in waiting on first year cars.
My 2015 has better quality than my 2014. Car has less interior noise
The stereo is better. Paint and finish is better. All around a little nicer car in noticeable ways. I would buy a 2015 before a 2014.

Improvements should have occurred or why purchase a newer model year. I purchased a mid run 2014 and couldn't be happier. Operated it all last summer, people who waited didn't. Watching model year improvements, nothing exciting yet. Probably 2017?

For these reasons, I'd wait for a 16', it's bound to have some nice improvements over a 15'.

The newer the better go for a 2016 and if it is a A8 I am sure the tranny will be improved over the 2015 A8 where some members have listed abrupt shifting problems with the A8. GO 2016!

My thought is that when the2016 comes out the 2014 is two years old in the mind of the purchaser. I don't think you can point to the build date as an element people will pay attention to once the 2016 is being sold. Others may have different thoughts. When I go to deal on a used car I would point out that a 2 year old car should cost less than a one year old car unless the mileage is way out of whack, I.e. The 2014 had 3000 miles and the 2015 had 30k.

Basically, after the first couple thousand cars, the risks associated with a "first year model" didn't exist with the C7.

This is a new 2014 3lt Z51 coupe with transparent roof. It does have the nav system. Still sitting on dealer lot. With my discounts price should come in around 56K. In my area they are not coming off of msrp for 2015 at the moment and if they were my other discounts (GM employee and GM credit card discount) may not apply. A similarly equipped 2015 is about 75K in my area.
