The 2016 Volt is officially confirmed to have CarPlay. Logically, shouldn't the flagship model follow suit?
Logic at GM is sometimes hard to understand. I had a Caddy that had an automatic E brake release and a pull down trunk lid motor on a 2000 model. My next Caddy a 2005 model had neither of these. Best answer I could get.....who knows was the 05 model was a clean sheet design and the designers where told not to reference the old model all show be fresh.
I understand motivating creativity but why recreate something that works?!?!

Logicly, yes. But reality would say no. the 2016 volt is an all new car where as the 2016 vette isn't. My guess is the earliest you can hope for carplay in the corvette would be it's mild refresh which is probably 2017.
Interesting how much concern there is re: Car Play or Android Auto on a sports car instead of HP, Handling or Looks. Neither of the audio features would persuade me one way or another on a new purchase. I much prefer the sound of the exhaust to the mid-level stereo in the car.

100% Agreed
Just another easy entry point for hackers to get in and take over your car.
Thats where the industry is going however GM does not move quickly. The design of the C7 NAV is locked except for minor changes. Newer car models may get CarPlay but only when newly introduced. The C6 NAV stayed the same for 6 years except for adding MP3 playback. I can't see GM changing NAV functionality at this point.
It's my understanding that's why GM (and most other manufacturers) are rushing to support CarPlay and Android Auto. They are acknowledging that Apple and Google can innovate this technology much faster than they can. I would hope that GM would not announce support so soon if they didn't think they could get it implemented within a few years. Hopefully we'll have good news tomorrow.

I don't see how being interested in updates on one thing excludes interest in the others? Personally I'm hoping for CarPlay but I am also interested in other updates for 2016, including some of what you mention. I don't expect any changes to HP or handling, but I am very interested in the changes to the colors, tires, and seating options.
Then again I'm also cross-shopping against the F-Type V8R and Cayman/Boxster GTS so my interests may be slightly different.

I wont buy a vehicle that has a proprietary system that only works with apple.
Dont use apple, never will, and not paying for something I will never use.
UGG There is so much misunderstanding around this!
Apple's and Android's systems are nothing more than overlays of the underlying entertainment system. If you don't have an Apple or Android product you will use the system as is.....

Apparently there's a presentation today (should be over by now). If anyone went to the presentation at Bash, please shed some light, if carplay or Android Auto were reviewed it would have been here.

Everyone is so sensitive! Just making a point about the interest. Having been a Porsche owner wouldn't go back except for maybe a twin turbo since I live in a winter climate I could use the AWD and drive all year. Again the stereo in these cars is average at best and I never would base my decision on stereo functions, I'm into performance and looks, call me shallow.

Cause we already know there won't be any changes in regards to that, so it is moot.
