That's your "take away" from watching that?
Let's break this down.... you stated that some of the t-shirts and hats had to be blurred out due to something offensive... do you have proof of that? What is your basis for that statement? Do you really think that the unions allow offensive clothing? I submit to you sir that those people may have been wearing apparel that was not a GM sponsor and as such in order to include those "emblems/insignias" would require GM to pay royalties/rights. My question to you would be why should those folks have to wear a certain uniform? Do you wear a uniform to work? I know some people do, IE: Fastfood joints etc.... I would not want to oppress those upstanding individuals that build quality vehicles....
Lets deny ignorance shall we...
Just my .02

There's plenty of evidence that uniforms can have a very real impact on employee performance, usually a positive one. It can cut down on distractions at work, leading to more efficient workers. Also has an impact on safety, as the uniforms are chosen in mind with the environment they will be used in, to account for machinery and possible high heat or open flames. Can foster a higher expectation in the workplace for professionalism, people who dress professionally usually act more professionally than if they wore their casual clothes.
Examples of where uniforms are worn:
Military obviously - yes, I do wear a uniform. At least on one weekend a month. If you have served, then you probably know exactly what I am talking about in this environment.
Hospitals
Ferrari Factory
Lamborghini Factory
Porsche Factory
Aston Martin Factory
Don't knock the fast food joints too bad, you'll need somewhere to work during the next factory union strike -
Would you rather these people build your car? or...
Or these guys - they don't look "oppressed"
I'd even pay extra to have these Professionals work on my car during the factory tour in their uniforms... heh.

It's ok man... I wasn't trying to be pissy

I do happen to be the son of autoworkers but I didn't think it influenced my thought process on the topic. It does influence my purchasing choices though and I take pride in knowing that every vehicle I've ever owned was built by the good folks in your first pic. I certainly would love to watch the Texans girls wash it.

I've also worn the uniform since I spent 4yrs in the USN. Haze gray and underway.
Uniforms do lend to some level of professionalism and I cannot disagree there. My main point was that I don't believe anyone there was wearing anything offensive as Gr8ful had suggested.
That is all.
Know who looks like some of the most unprofessional characters in the military (at first site)..............special operations groups. Especially seals, and green berets. Long hair, facial hair, etc. Yet obviously some of the best professionals in any business are in those units.
But oh my god!!! they aren't clean shaven with squared away hair cuts!!!
hahaha oh well.
So much for looks mattering.
What anyone should care about is the quality of the work being done. Not if some dude is in a uniform.
They kickoff with the BMW i8 again on Saturday here.

One day you'll grow up and become an adult and experienced in life enough to realize that appearances actually do matter, in many situations regardless of what all the Mark Zuckerberg followers want to tell you. Now where that changes is when you're rich enough to not care... which I don't think most of us are there yet, certainly not the average factory worker.

The Zuckerberg comment was funny!
How about using Google as an example? Some of the brightest minds in the tech industry work there. And yet there is no standard dress code at Google. hmmmmm I wonder if their work is suffering because of it! Or perhaps someone realized that having a uniform means nothing beyond looking pretty for outside prying eyes.
Do appearances matter in some instances........yep.
At a factory.............probably not so much.
