I E-mailed MIke, G Mgr., Dave's son, yesterday to ask if CHEV. checked out the coupe or if they took it off of the lot yet. I did not recieve a reply as yet, maybe today or Monday, hopefully I will hear some good news. I do not want to be a (PITA)!
I would like to see pictures also but I am more concerned with the cause.
I believe him even without pictures. Calling the guy a liar is not cool.
I totally agree. I'm not sure why there is this mentality on here. Corvette owners are generally older and are more likely to have issues figuring out techie stuff like posting pics. I dunno, maybe offer help instead of being a douche.
If my car started on fire a week after I got it I'd be pretty bummed out. If some of you said stuff like that to me I'd probably get perma-banned from here I'd be such a ***** about it.
Did anyone have an electrical meltdown with their stingray. My car has 791 miles on it . The dealer has had it for 14 days and reported 49 error codes and can't find the problem.
Sounds like they solved the problem but with 49 error codes I'd be looking for ground issues. My car lit up like a Christmas tree with errors when I installed my catch can and didn't get the ABS/electric power steering ground proper.
Rustynkl , this is Bill B from CCDV, Frank email me the pic of the car and I'll post it for you. Guys that are saying BS please believe me this did happen, and the car is at the dealership.

Yo Bill, Thank you, you are a friend! I did not have my camera with me. I do not have the remote to get into the hatch area, Bryner has both of them. Bill I worked in coustomer service for AAA for 15 years, if you were a PITA I did as little as poss. for you. Most people were reasonable but pissed, you just have to undersand that some people just don't get it. Life is STILL good, even after cancer. P.S. I even forgot the marshmellows!

Reason: Added P.S>
Hang in there, Dave will get it straightened out for you. If you get pictures send them to me or if another club member is in and gets a pic for you have them send it my way.
And exactly why would you post that? Do you really think this could not happen?
I have seen this car, it happened. What you need to do is place a bet with me or the Origional Poster (owner) on your BS meter. I'd love to take your money.

The car is on the back line at the dealer by the RR tracks if you want pics. It's toasted inside.
GM engineers know there's a LOT of energy stored in the battery, so they put a fusible link right at the battery, then put fuses on every circuit after that. In addition, the interior components are somewhat fire resistant, since they must meet NHTSA Standard 302.
It's just really hard to imagine a failure scenario on an almost new vehicle that would lead to the kind of fire and damage the OP described. There's almost no way to release the amount of energy required to start a fire in the first place, and there's nothing there to support a fire of that intensity if it did start.
Was the car modified in any way? Was there something else in the hatch area that was flammable? Was the fusible link broken/melted? Did the battery itself burn?

I know the guy who owned the car and all the guys vouching for him. I also know the dealership & they're excellent. Now to immediately say he's lying just proves some people are really jerks. Secondly I have a friend with a 2013 Buick LaCrosse that the same thing happened. The battery completely had a meltdown & went up in smoke. I just hope my friend Frank gets his car replaced and am thankful no one was hurt.
My 2015 coupe with 230 miles burst into FLAMES on 4/25/15. Was one week old, The battery and pc board in the rear hatch area had 3 to 4 feet of flames. One not happy guy!
You gotta be kidding! I've never heard of that happening. Hope you were ok.
Frank here, A big thank to the guys who know me for their support. I do trust Dave at Bryner Chev. he will go to bat for CCDV members. I would like to hear from CHEV., it has been over a week now. I am hoping to get a replacement 2015 coupe. I am O.K. just some singed left arm hair from disconnecting the neg. battery terminal. Life is still GOOD!
