Default Carpet

Can anyone explain to me why the carpet in the new c7 are basically Astroturf? I bought new mats from Lloyds they are plush nice carpet totally mismatched with c7 interior...

My 3LT is very nice, comparable to any other luxury cars.

Was planning on ordering a set of Lloyds but see no problem with the standard mats/carpet. If they wear prematurely than I will spend the money, but for now no complaints.

The 1LT feels like some sort of outdoor burber carpet. I don't care. If I wanted luxurious carpet I'd get a Caddy or Lexus. As long as it doesn't weigh too much or stain too easily.

I like the new carpet style. Very durable, easy to vacuum, and different from any carpet in any vehicle I've owned. I went with GM Premium mats with Stingray emblem, so that nap and color on mats would be a 100% match to the carpet.

No similarity to Astroturf in my opinion.

Yup, same here.
Sprayed Scotchguard on them and don't plan on replacing them with anything else. Dirt and sand gets trapped in a deeper pile and these are fine by me.

I think this was discussed last year. The carpet is loop pile not cut pile. Should be more durable in my opinion and not crush like the cut pile does after much use.

it was always used in lower end trim back in the 60's and 70's . The cut pile was always used in the higher end cars . The loop does wear better .

Actually in my car with the gray carpet you can see it pretty good. That's why I went with gray seats. Gray carpet brightens up the interior and makes the car feel a little less claustrophobic imo.

I did the same. but for my money they are flimsy and only say stingray across the bottom, however they did match the quality of the plasticky feel of the carpet. those wore out pretty quick, because lets face it, you don't simply open the door and step out of a vette, you more or less roll out and your foot twists on the matt...

plus the Lloyds have a large emblem of the vette flags with colors AND have stingray underneath. extremely nice looking matt.

also to the one who stated "when sitting in the car....who can see the carpet"
this is true, the passenger for 1, as Joy c7 pointed out.
Also when the car is parked and you have top off, plenty of people can see inside.
