So the car arrived form Bowling Green and we picked it up last weekend. It was raining and cloudy so we didn't notice the following two issues during the delivery process. We didn't notice them until the next morning when we could pull it outside in the sun.
Number 1) The dash pad has a bubble in the leather about a third of the way down on the piece that goes from the top of the dash down along the Infotaintment center on the passenger side. Besides the obvious visual defect I'm concerned that in a couple of years (or less) it will stretch and / or shrink and rip the leather open.
Number 2) On the top of the dash there is a row of contrasting color stitching on either side of the HUD projector area. One side is nice and straight and runs parallel to the bulge for the projector. The other side is noticeably wavy and offset.
To correct both of these would mean replacing the dash. Which means having the dealer take the car apart. I'm concerned about fit and finish and rattles after they take the dash out and install the new one.
Any thoughts on whether or not to do this? Both items obviously don't impact functionality of the car but they're also obviously defects.
My dealer took my dash apart and put it back together again. I have no issues or rattles. The dash components go in with clips for the most part and should be easy for the dealer to replace.
I would say get it fixed or you will always be looking at it and wishing you had gotten in addressed under warranty.
Dashes now are not like the old days. They are major components that go in and come out as a unit and are relatively easy to disassemble to replace a piece. Many C6 owners had dashes removed for various reasons and replaced without issue, some owners even removed their own and replaced with no problems.
As long as you can have confidence in your chosen dealer, go ahead and do it. As already mentioned, you'll always regret it if you don't.
I agree with the other replys so far. Get it replaced, even if you have to use another dealer. I'm in NE FL as well. Let me know if you want to look at mine, get some pics, etc. 10K miles on an early build car and the fit is perfect.

Your car should have never passed inspection at numerous places in the assembly plant. In fact, your flawed panel should have never been used at all. You paid big bucks for GM's halo car, make them provide what you paid for.
No, mine is as supplied new. Just wanted you to know that it started right and has stayed right, so getting yours "right" should be your focus. Mine was built in September 2013 and has 10K miles on it with no deterioration at all.
It is a bummer. You purchase a new car and then the dealer has to rip it apart to get factory defects fixed. My car had leather on the seat back delaminating, replaced both seat back covers. Now I have a repaired new car? I just had the recall on the fuel filler anti syphone screen coming out of place. Now the dealer has my car messed up, something else to deal with (disgusted!). Why can't American car companies built quality cars?

Called my sales guy Monday about the dash. He said he would get with the service / warranty people. He called me back two hours later and said no problem. The parts are on order and if I want I can bring it in to them in a couple of days when the parts arrive or just wait for the 500 mile oil change and do both at the same time.
I thought for sure I'd have to at least bring it in for them to look at it and then maybe get jerked around and have to fight to get it replaced. I'm shocked at the level of service. Way more than I expected.
I would list the name of the dealer but I think Forum rules prevent me from doing that since they're not a sponsor. So let's just say it's a dealer on the north side of Daytona Beach, FL, on Nova Road. Our entire experience there has been much better than we expected.

Highly recommended.
Great to hear of the good service. Be sure to show us the new one when you get it back.
