Default LS2 oil cap fit a LT1?

Before I buy a new oil cap with M1 on it I was wondering if I should look for my spare LS2 oil cap.

I was thinking it won't. Got a mobile one cap from my dad and it didn't fit. Not sure what its from though. I figured an LS engine. Maybe I could try it on an ls1.

Cap for the dry-sump is different than the cap for the wet-sump. Your cap will probably fit the oil reservoir on a Z51, but not the valve cover on a wet-sump. Several posts have searched for an M1 cap for the wet-sump and no one has found a solution.

I think my wet sump engine requires two grooves and the cap has 1. I could prolly fire up the dremel and make the 2nd groove. Don't notice any other difference but spent maybe 5 seconds comparing.

Sure is. Thanks for your input guys. I should have mentioned it was a Z51 car. I will pick up the pieces when they become available. Even though I change my own oil I would like to have a M1 cap-caps.

Yea.. Dunno if I'd seriously try, it, but Dremel tools are kinda fun. All kinds of crazy stuff you can do with em.
