Default Speedometer location?

I am considering the new 2015 corvette (first time vette buyer here) I have a Cadillac CTS and am also considering the new CTS-V This may seem a little thing, but one of my favorite things about my cts is the center analog speedometer. It seems most corvette instrument displays have the tach on center (I know it's important), but while driving, I do focus on the speed and need a quick read. Although I love analog gauges, a digital readout is acceptable.
----Looks like the new corvette speedometer is relegated to the lower left quadrant, way off center. I see there is a heads up display with speed--how is that? What is the best quickest way to determining speed easily day or night?

The HUD is my choice - always there in front of me - wife the same way. For sure HUD.

Looks to me (only had my car a month) that there are at least 3 possible speddo spots, depending on what options your car has and you set.

This is my 3rd Vette with HUD and that is the one I normally use. (you can set your HUD to do a bunch of different things (owner’s choice I guess)

Here is just one of several display configurations that gives you a speedo front and center. And, as others have suggested, if you get a 2LT or 3LT you get the heads up display (HUD), which can always show the speedo no matter how you have the main display configured.

While the C6 has excellent and beautiful analog guages, some of the best ever, I used the digital speedo in the HUD almost exclusively for the 9 years I drove one.

I do not have HUD in my 1LT C7, but the center display has an excellent digital speedo in the center of the tach in both Tour and Sport modes. I never look at the analog speedo out of sight on the left.

The HUD. I missed having the HUD so much when I left my C5 for a generation 2 CTS-V. The new CTS-V does have HUD as well now, finally. Keeps your eyes always on the road.

HUD is the way to go, worth the 2LT extra just for that IMO!

Have my own question. I have tried to display the configuration shown in this pic in my Z51 and can't find how to do it! It shows the car in Sport where I usually have mine set but have looked at the various options but obviously have not found the one that displays those engine parameters digitally . Any thoughts?

I prefer the Sport display tach w/pocket gauges (middle pic)
To play with all settings without starting car...press start button for 5 seconds (not in owners manual)

There's an analog speedo on the left?

By default, the display configuration is linked to the driving mode, so in Sport you get the large tach and two pocket gauges. If you unlink them, you can set the display to whatever mode you want, independent of driving mode. Here, I have the display set to Tour, with the performance information display selected.

This provides more information than the sport mode display with only 2 pocket gauges.

Yes it is. At least in my 2015 manual.

For 1LT buyers, that's often the only speedo visible on the dash, since the digital one goes away in a lot of the display modes.

I go with the sport theme on the DIC and track on the HUD because I love the shift lights.

Just noticed that the Cluster is slightly different for the Vehicles in Canada. How do you know when your gas tank is 1/2 FULL? LOL...

Yeah, now that you point it out though, there are no numbers on the coolant temperature. I never have that on my pocket gauges though.

Me too. I like the fact that you can have different displays on the HUD and the DIC.
