I have seen On A forum I believe the best was near 37 MPG.I can't do that Maybe near 30. Maybe.
I've heard over 40 on here actually. I can totally believe it. Put it in 7th gear with a non Z51 model and set the cruise control to 60mph, running non ethanol gas, and over 40 should be no problem on a perfectly flat road. Under those circumstances with my LS2 C6 (but in 6th gear), I achieved the following:
When I get a C7 I'm going to see if I can get over 40, I predict I'll hit 41.
'14 Z51 7 speed RagTop - 30.6 MPG best over 50 mile span (road trip on interstate 7th speed and rolling two lane back roads in mostly 5th & 6th gear). Typical commute will produce 23.5 MPGs (27 miles of state highway and interstate at 50 - 70MPH speeds). In my 550 BMW daily commute yields 21MPG and in my '15 V6 GMC Canyon I'm down to 17.5 MPGs. The Vette is the most 'economical' in my stable.
Did a 700 mile road trip last weekend from the flat lands of North Carolina up into the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains and back down again. I kept the car in Eco mode the entire trip, but didn't do any special driving techniques to attempt to extend MPG. There was a lot of time on freeways in 6th and 7th gear, plus small town main streets at 25-35 MPH. The overall DIC average for the entire trip was 28.7 MPG. The best 50-mile stretch was 39 MPG (coming down out of the mountains, obviously).
This was a manual non-Z51 with the top on at all times and air conditioning running. Two people plus small luggage.
I believe the C7 is remarkable. I mean put it in track stomp on it 1-3rd gear maybe get 15 MPG.Then take it out on the freeway, put it in ECON 7th gear and your getting 40 MPG.
5,500 miles average is 25.2. This is from gas receipts and the old fashioned division method. 2,103 mile for the trip to the bash and I got 27.6 on the way there, 6th gear. On the way home we tried 7th gear and the mileage dropped to 26.5, these were both by the DIC.
I get around 16 when I am driving it how I would 70% of the time. I took a trip to Austin and was able to get 22 mpg. Couldn't help doing a few runs in the triple digits a few times.
Avg of 18.7 after 3,777 miles. I haven't a clue how some of you guys squeak out such good mileage. I don't drive it like I stole it, but I will freely admit to the following:
- The car has never seen ECO mode.
- I've never been forced into a 1-4 shift.
- I don't use 7th too often unless I have an open road and a decent distance to cruise.
- Shell 93 octane at all times.

I don't get forced 1 to 4 much but if the windows are up, then I'm usually in Eco. If it's raining, I use weather. If the windows are down I want to hear the NPP and use Sport. Exxon or Shell 93, I switch back and forth. I don't drive it like I stole it, but I sure don't baby it either.

Mine has never been in Eco mode and it was in 7th once just to try it. It's not on the highway much either.
I get better mileage on the highway than my wife's new Nissan Rogue, 32.4. It ticks her off because she was told hers would get 32 but gets about 28. Around town she wins because I can't keep my foot out of it.
