Noticed on my new 2015 with black wheels there are five wheel lug nuts on it, but one of them doesn't have one. The one that doesn't have one looks like it is a lock, I'm guessing for the wheel key. Is this normal to have it exposed on the black wheels? I've noticed Chrome wheels don't have that exposed piece.
Took delivery from Mike Furman at Criswell a couple weeks ago. Was this missed during the PDI?
Not sure I understand what you're seeing. Do you mean one of the nuts doesn't have a her head for a wrench? If so, then that's the wheels lock. Somewhere you should have a matching "key" which has the hex.

The car comes with 5 identical lug nuts. If you bought locks from the dealer they are made by McGard and have a puzzle lock slot that needs a special matching key. I bought them on my own. Mine is chrome. Chevy charges ~$40 so doubt if they were free.

Here is a pic of one of the wheels. I'm guessing the black wheels have wheel locks which is what that is. So the other wheels don't have locks? I guess that is the lock on the wheel and there is no thread to put a cover over it?

Yep, that's a locking lug nut alright, and it is not going to look like the others. Anybody that wants to steal the wheels will get them anyway, so you might as well just put a regular lug nut on it.

Looks just like my McGard locks! Hope you find the key they have many different puzzles. Stops kids. Maybe they will go after the one without locks! Cheap insurance. I even lock my house when I leave even though Pro's can get in!
Your salesperson/dealership threw it in as a nice gesture, like mine (except I have to remind him a bit). Look in the trunk compartment for the packet of lug nuts.
I would guess this is the first set of locking lug nuts you have seen. When it's put on at the dealer, I don't know if there is a spare bag of four original, regular lug nuts left with the car. But, there may be.
