Default Performance vs Multi-mode Performance Exhaust

Looking at a couple of 2014's, one is described as having a Multi Mode Performance Exhaust and the other as having a performance exhaust.

Would this exhaust be the same for both cars?

It should be the same, but sellers can get creative.

If it is an upgrade cost, it is the NPP (multimodal performance exhaust). It works in conjunction with the driving mode. Track mode - it stays open and full sound continuously, sport mode - opens on start up and acceleration, but quiets once driving at speed. Touring mode and Eco, it doesn't open and stays quiet all the time. Provides about 5 more HP than not performance exhaust.

I often wondered if GM or anyone else ever actually proved that 5 more ponies showed up at the gate when the flaps opened up.

I don't doubt that it's real. But I suspect you'll only see the bump at full throttle and high rpm. For street use, the reason to get the NPP is the wonderful sounds it lets the car make.

Multi Mode Performance Exhaust is how it is called out on the window sticker.

And, based on the number of cars I saw with this option when shopping for mine, laying down $1,195 will need little thought.
