I get the black screen and msg. "service rear camera sensor"
about 4 or 5 times a month...had dealer look at it three times....didn't happen while they had it... said they found nothing wrong with the camera.
When I put the 2015 C7 in reverse the camera lines come up and then disappear and the message "service rear camera sensor" come up in it's place?
Anyone know service and/or checkout procedures for the rear camera sensor?
Hi Zajac,
I am sorry to hear about your concern with your Corvette's rear camera and can definitely understand how that can be frustrating. I see that you’re reaching out to the forum for some feedback and you already received several responses.
Should you decide that you would like to work with the dealership, I would be happy to help.
If you are interested, please PM us with your VIN, mileage, contact information and preferred dealer. I look forward to hearing from you.
I want to close the loop on the thread I started about my 2015 C7 rear camera not working.
I traced the fault to a broken wire at the camera wiring connector located behind the rear fascia. I repaired the broken wire connection, which happened to be the black ground wire, and the rear camera again works perfectly.
I'm taking my car back to the dealer Monday morning for a rear camera issue. On mine, not consistently, but sometimes way more consistent than others, the camera will flicker uncontrollably.
It looks almost like an old tube TV not able to get the channel in and needing to adjust the antenna... (for those of you who get that analogy lol).
One time, it did end up with the service rear camera message.
Chevy told them to replace the screen that they've seen this cause the issue before for some reason. That was done and did not help as the next morning it happened again. It makes the camera unusable when it happens.
I'll try to let them know to check he rear connection. Perhaps that's all the issue is.

Well done, good to hear you found the problem and you were able to do the repair.
When installing a Z06 spoiler on my C7, I had to remove the rear fascia and disconnected the backup camera. After re-installing everything, my rear camera has been working perfectly for over 2 months now.. the camera connector at the rear was obviously the problem, not fully snapped together.... so I would look there for a possible solution too.
Update: been working good for over 2 years now, 07-2017.
