Several times... depress media button but USB's and SD card are not recognized.
Only Bluetooth gets recognized. Then, later same day, turn on car, and all media cards/sticks are recognized?

Is there something that I am doing wrong?
I'm not sure if you have a real problem or if you're seeing the delay caused by the software indexing the songs on the USB or SD memory chips. The more songs on the chip the longer it takes for indexing. Mine usually takes less than a minute, not all that many songs on it. Next time try waiting to see if its just lag time during indexing or maybe there's a problem. Good luck!

I know you can confuse the system if you stop the engine , open the driver's door (which stops the music) and then restart the car. That really annoys the system apparently. Eventually (5 minutes or so) it gets back in the swing of things and picks up where it left off. I just ignore the no media detected message.
I have even had the head unit report no media detected and yet a song from the SD cards begins to play.
