I had the memory fix applied by the dealership and I STILL can't figure it out. I have the memory seat activated at ignition. I've set the position that I want, hitting "Set" then "1". I have the proper key FOB in my pocket. When I press the ignition button to start the car, the seat and the wheel go all the way back and I can't reach a damn thing. What am I doing wrong???
Sounds you have the "exit" feature set. Go into your vehicle settings screen and turn that off. Then, start your car and set the seat where you want it. Press M and wait for beep. Press 1 and wait for other beep. You should be good after that.

Should be as easy as setting the seat , wheel, and side view mirrors to your fav position and then HOLD the set and the number key at the same time until you hear the confirmation beep.
if you do it with the ignition off, it might revert back to your exit position when you press the ignition,,,,try programming the memory position with the engine running.
Make sure you only have 1 fob on you and that is the one you use every time. good luck!

Thanx but what is "M"?? I have "set", 1, 2 and another button. And I still want that steering wheel!

I didn't know I have to hold both buttons at the same time. I press set THEN 1 and I always hear a beep. I did set it when the car was running. I've tried all suggestions. Holding the "set" and "1" button down at the same time WON'T give me a beep.

That's because you don't. You are doing it right if you get the beep. Press set, then press the one you want until you get the beep.
Make sure your settings are set correctly in the head unit. After getting the update your settings all get set to default (nature of the beast there). I bet if you just got through the ENTIRE process again then you will get it right. Also, set memory positions 1 and 2 to the same exact position. That will rule out the key fob variable.
Double check to make sure you set Auto Memory recall to On - Ignition
Problem solved. I was doing everything correctly. Apparently the tiny numbers on the FOB, (1 and 2), mean nothing. Key Fob 1 only works with button 2 on the door panel. Thanx GM.

That's correct. The fobs have no preset pairing to button 1 or 2, and the numbers mean nothing. The first time you set memory 1, the fob that's in the car gets assigned to button one. And once it's set, it matches button 1 forever.

For what it's worth, there has been speculation about the numbers in the removable key since I got my C7 19 months ago. Recently had a Chevy Customer Service person that watches forum comments confirm with their sources what a forum poster deduced last year.
The numbers are probably the cavity number in a two part forging die! That makes sense since some of us have two 1's, some two 2's and some a 1 and 2. On a random basis that would be 25% with two 1's, 25% with two 2's and 50% with a 1 and a 2. However if you have a 1 and a 2, depending on which FOB was programmed as a 1 initially on a random basis, half the folks with a 1 and 2 are numbered wrong! I have fun with the probabilities! If yours are backward swap the key's or just like those of us with two of one number - forget the numbers! You can get a key FOB cover to differentiate if needed! It also stops the removable key from coming out unintentionally!
Silicone Key Fob Cover Holds Removable Key on to FOB. My FOB Came Lose in My Pocket and a Forum Poster Reported Loosing Their FOB! If It's on a Key Rig with Other Items, Not Hard to Occur. Comes Out Much Easier Than My C6 FOB.
