Default Performance Exhaust Tips

Should the Performance Exhaust Tips be centered vertically in the rear black Fascia panel ? If not can this be adjusted so they are centered ?
Thanks >>>> Inthered

There are threads about the pipes in NPP being crooked and potential fixes. I hate to say use the search function as it really is worthless at times, sometimes it is better to just google what you are looking for, i.e. C7 stingray crooked performance exhaust pipes.

If you look at your own photo you can clearly see that the gap above the pipes is a lot larger then the gap underneath the pipes.

We have a lot of very obsessive owners on this forum but nobody else has focused on that. I think it just depends on how high or low you are looking from. It's entirely possible that if you modified the car to get the measurements you want it might end up actually looking "wrong".

Of course most cars have the big flared NPP tips. Maybe it's the smaller standard tips that measure wrong?

Well that was an old photo I had for the license plate frame or something so it's not centered on the exhaust. But I think the bigger issue here, is that when you step on the gas really hard, the exhaust will shake a little, GM should be issuing recalls any time now

Mine are like those pictured above. Not centered. Can't say it ever struck me as a concern. I've seen a few pictures where the 4 outlets aren't perfectly aligned horizontally, either. That would bother me.

Never thought about it until you brought it up. You convinced me to look, and they look just fine to me. Moving on now.

The tips on my '14 were not lined up correctly when I took delivery. If I remember correctly, at that time there were quite a few comments about this on the Forum so that was one item I checked out during my delivery inspection. The dealer agreed that that left side was off so when I brought the car back for the first oil change they made the adjustment. The mechanic said it was a very quick and easy fix.

I just finished watching how the C7 is made on the Velocity Channel and the C7 that was rolling off of the line had the tips lined up perfect.
Can these tips be adjusted without going to the dealer ?

Although a few C7s have needed a quick adjustment to get all 4 tips aligned horizontally, most arrive ok from the factory. Most of us have watched that TV documentary. The exhaust tips look fine on TV but there's no way to measure the cars on TV. All of our cars also look fine, just the same.

With all the shapes and angles of the bumper opening combined with the flare of the tips, GM has designed the pipes to look right, not to have an equal measurement top and bottom. With your eye level down low or with the car up on a rack the perspective changes completely. No need for measuring, GM has designed it to just look right.

There are no adjustments provided for personal preferences. Any custom modifications for equal top and bottom measurements would probably end up looking wrong appearance-wise.

Mine are fine and have been since I got the car the 1st week in October 2013. I recall early-on some folks complained their tips where not the same heights, off perhaps 1/4 inch. You need to post pics if you want answers. Some had the dealer loosen muffler/pipe clamps and straighten.

My Z51 NPP tips are centered and all the same height

If I thought my exhaust tips looked right I would not have started this thread
