Default Great Car

My Blade Silver, base model 2014 C7 with an A6 is a week short of being a calendar year old, purchased new.

After 5400 miles, I could hardly be happier with it. Some may think a 2LT with almost no extra options is a lame choice, if so, you’re welcome to your opinion.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have ordered a differently configured car.

If pressed to think of something that shouldn’t be, a petty one for me would be that I really dislike the engine dipstick. Much harder to read than the conventional one and yes, I do put the DS in fully and rotate it 360 degrees. As I said trivial. Don

Your vin number must be around 23000. I Have a convertible with the 2LT interior, navigation and 7 speed manual transmission. I am happy with mine.

Sounds like you have a great car (what's not to be happy about any C7?) and what counts is that you enjoy it. Sometimes there is too much back and forth on here about what people should or shouldn't do with their cars. It's your car and that's all that matters.

I'm in complete agreement with you. After nine months of ownership and 4000 miles on my '15, I continue to be amazed at how great these cars are. Like you, I have trouble reading the dipstick but it's not a big deal.

There are ignorant folks on this forum that find fault with just about every choice, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT , Z51, non Z51, no options, too many options, etc. They all fail to realize no one really gives a frogs fat as what they think.

Totally agree and thanks for posting this.

I have a 2015 going on 6 months, and my base Stingray 1LT is awesome and has performed flawlessly.

I don't have one single complaint with the C7, which is my 1st Corvette ever.

I own a rare 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition (only 200 made for the USA) and Porsche 981 and the Corvette C7 has become my favorite of the 3 premium sports cars.

I have a Blade Silver 2LT Z51, M7. My options are all modest (except maybe for the ragtop). I could not agree more with this thread. I love my car, it's the best color in my mind, but there are many out there that would disagree with the choices I made in ordering it. I hope everyone loves their car like we do ours. Glad to hear you are enjoying your ride.

Our choices are our choices. There will always be someone to find fault in what we do. So be it. I have had my Base C7, A8, 1LT, BSM, Z51 for about 2 months now. I enjoy the heck out of it. When comparing it to my '07 Z06, I think it is more fun using the paddle shifters.

A little early, but congrats on your upcoming one year anniversary. Sounds like you got the car that is perfect for you.

I agree, got the "base"car with 2lt and M7, added splash guards, blacked out the chrome strip and put on Z51 stabilizer kit. Now the car is all mine, and like the OP love it. No problems, other than the recognition. But that is a nice way to meet other people of all walks of life.

Don't sell the car short by saying a 2lt with no extra options- you hit the sweet spot as far as value is concerned-2LT gives you everything you really need.

Oh, I guess because it isn’t a 3LT Z51 with MRC, Nav and a few other goodies? Threw the remark in as a way of saying my choice was just that and not everyone would agree. Don

These cars are great and I love driving mine - 2014 Z51 3LT vert with almost every option that I bought new. I have about 6k miles on it. The only changes I made were getting nice Lloyd floor mats and I put on the Michelin A/S 3 tires which improved the ride.

Let's not let GM completely off the hook here. Why does my C7 have an inferior memory seat option and a sound system that sounds so-so compared my stock C5?? And who designed the pointy part of the dash on the driver's side that I whack my knee on every time I enter the car?

I agree with the OP. Our 2LT AW Vert is 1 year old this week. We have 5200 miles on it and I can't stop smiling when I drive it. It is the best they have ever made. Sure there is always an opportunity to improve. But all the "picking" is a waste of good electrons here. You can't buy a comparable vehicle for this price.

And "long live the wave".

If you got what you wanted, that is in no way "lame". Weather or not it's what I wanted or what someone else wanted is not relevant...seeing as how its your money.
