You must be new here. C7Jake is the forum's most annoying member. Shameless self promotion that does little to inform.

This is also unrequested criticism. No one asked you what you do (probably because no one cares).

You see Bill, C7Jake has a long history of posting pictures of his car to show us how cheap and crappy you can make a C7. While we can all appreciate his frugal mindset, some people want to buy the best, whatever the cost. He doesn't know his audience, it seems.

I'm sure he's a great guy in person but he's a non-contributing member on this forum.

No, not new at all...I see Jakes posts all the time....and yes sometimes I think he is a little overboard, but I don't see anything about his comments on this post that is any different from comments I see from others on many posts. It appears to me he is mealy stating what he has done other than what the OP has done.
On the other hand I see your post on this thread that is clearly bashing his and inferring others "cheep mods" as being inappropriate. So guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Ben, thank you for posting what I was thinking

I can pretty much guarantee any thread where someone mentions a splitter or wheels, I can open it up and see these same photos and read the same self-righteous rhetoric...

Reduced ground clearance issues aside, and not knocking anyone's choice of mods, but I'd really like to see one of the car magazines perform wind tunnel and drag coefficient tests; both with and without a front splitter. I'd really like to know if the splitter actually splits the air, or just creates more drag. Being a pilot, the frontal frontal portion of the splitter (bolted up against the squared off section of the front bumper) looks more like an air dam to me. But each to their own.

C7Jake- what's the part # for your rubber GM splitter?
I go over some very steep driveways, and figure the rubber one might help protect the body from damage.

Although would having the splitter create less front end clearance and cause the car to scrape even more?

I can see your point of view as a vendor selling a high $$ part, but this is a public forum and the conversations aren't private or exclusive. In my short time here it seems that just about every other thread on this forum gets derailed at some point.

The rubber splitter doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look as good as an actual carbon fiber splitter. Sure the Weapon X splitter is $799 but you're paying for looks, quality and good materials. Overall, it's tiring to see the same 3 or 4 pics of his car.

Not sure why the hate over the "poverty splitter". I put the poverty splitter on my C7 mostly to protect from the stuff I may hit. Poser factor was secondary. At 1280 miles, it sacrificed itself to a large retread the gf hit. Poverty splitter was messed up, but the front of my car was saved. Best $105 I've ever spent. Hell, I'm so cheap I rubbed down the scuffs, plasti-dipped the thing flat black and put it back on. Looks pretty much like new actually. A shade darker now.

Man I have no issues with you but you come off harsh with my product cost. If I had it made in China like a lot of these guys including GM it would be cheaper. But I prefer to buy and manufacture American.

I have too much fun with the back and fourth to click that button LOL

i think you've missed some posts.

it's all intentional. just wait, the bland grey vette with bland grey wheels will begin to burn your eyes, too. keep in mind, C7Jake likes to be the whipping boy. it's his choice to plaster (spam) the board with the same old pictures of his car.

Wow, I swear many members of this forum are not Corvette owners, but teenage sons of Corvette owners.

Even a vendor acting like a child...how unprofessional.

Note to self: Do not do business with unprofessional vendors....ever.
