Default Breaking It Loose

If anyone has seen a few of my posts they know I'm two months in and only 113 miles. I'm not close to getting past the break in period point but...

When I do I'm wondering, can you break the tires loose in 2nd or 3rd gear? Should you go easy on the throttle or does it hook up easy?

Car is a 7Speed Z51.

If it is dry and above 70 degrees out, the rear tires have no problem holding traction at full throttle in second and third gears - first not so much.

I think my car had 4-5 miles on it before I went all the way through 3rd gear. I was by the assembly plant.

Go ahead and give it a go.

Depends......with TC off it should break loose fairly easily in a straight line in 3rd.....enough to see faint black stripes on the road anyway.

I totally agree about first gear. I have an A8 and my C7 breaks loose very easily at initial throttle up. So easy in fact I am wondering if my nannies are even working properly. When the car does get loose it is my taking the foot off the throttle that brings me back into a straight line. The nannies do not react fast enough.

The thing is when I watched the launch control demo at Spring Mountain that C7 went perfectly straight.

Not sure what if anything is wrong with my C7.

As for 2nd gear and up I have had no loose issues.

take off traction control and let her eat. do it in a parking lot first if you haven't gotten a feel for your car. make sure to throttle out of it, don't let off or you might whip back and over correct.

113 miles in two months and you're asking about spinning the tires?

You need to get behind the wheel and get that break-in period out of the way - then you can find out about breaking the tires loose for yourself.

I did 113 miles the first day I had my car!

As others mentioned, dig deep into turning off all the nannies and don't launch into the trees.
