Default 2016 wheel option

Anyone order option code 5Z2 black wheels with yellow stripe w/o tires .( price $3740)? Item was listed on the 2016 price schedule but does not appear on the 2016 brochure.

The price you see on price list is with tires. You can get individual wheels without tires. That is what I am doing --- exact set as you. This goes with my 36S and yellow calipers.
I'm just trying to figure out how to get my stock wheels off and those wheels on so the car is that way for R8C.

I'm getting my wheels here (http://www.shopchevyparts.com/wheels...-92281814.html). They are the cheapest I have found (including shipping). If you find something cheaper LMK.

R8C is the option code for Museum Delivery - taking delivery of your special-ordered new Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. It includes a personal tour of the museum and the factory during operating hours, and a detailed review of all features/functions by an expert 'tour guide' (usually retired plant personnel).

What site was that?

I was using the same site for the 20" as the 19" that I listed above. http://www.shopchevyparts.com/wheels...-92281819.html

I was always taking into consideration shipping also. Curious what URL you got that price from. I haven't ordered my wheels yet as I don't have a confirmed R8C date yet.

Are those, in the picture, the new 2016 stock 19" rear/18" front wheels?? If they are, are you going to be looking at selling them??

Yes to both your questions. However, I haven't figured out how/when I will get the replacement wheels on the car. I'm trying to get Shane to let Campbell Chev in BG take the car, swap out the wheels and put the new original wheels in those boxes. I haven't seen pricing out on the 2016 wheels published yet as parts either.

Hmmmmm.... If you're taking I40 West, back home, I'm only 1.5 miles south of I40 at Exit 137 (West side of Oklahoma City). However, I will be out of town July 24 - August 8th. I will be making my way to BG on August 6th for a factory tour and museum visit. Let's stay in touch. PM me if you think we can work something out. THANKS.

Phew... I spent a while looking for best prices and happened across that site after I thought I had found the cheapest site. I suspect there is still someone cheaper. If anyone finds one, LMK as I won't be buying until just before I do R8C.

I am going through Chicago, to MSP, straight west to Spokane and then into Seattle. I will let you know as I get close to my R8C.

I zoomed in on your picture and I think you have the 2016 Z51 wheels (20" rear/19" Front) because they don't quite look like the 2016 stock 19" rear/18" front wheels I've seen here. I need to use my existing tires, so I don't think this will work out. Oh well, I'm sure more opportunities will come along in due time. Enjoy that ride home!!

Yes you are correct. Sorry about that over site. My tour guide for the Buyer's Tour has a friend that is interested in them also that is local.

No, they are not installed at the factory. I would have done that if it was possible...

If you order them from your dealer at the time of ordering the car you will get the following: http://www.chevrolet.com/all-vehicle...136.layer.html

If you order them from the parts department from the link I have above, you will just get the wheels. Bottom line is that you will have a different set of wheels that you will need to sell and then take the tires off your wheels that came from the factory and swap them to the 5Z2 wheels (part # 22751246 & 22751247).

I can't even get NCM to let the local chevy dealer come and swap the wheels before I pick up the car for R8C. So, I will have to get pictures, ect. with the wheels you see my car coming off the factory line above and after R8C take them to a tire shop to get them swapped. That means shipping those wheels to that shop in advance and then dealing with shipping to my house to sell later.

So, yes, Chevy does NOT make it easy to get those tires.

On more time, cause I'm still confused----I ordered my Z51 with wheel option 5Z2. Will the factory ship with these wheels and of course with tires (MSRP $3740) I know I could save money by buying from GM parts place like the one you recommended . After spending $70 grand plus I'm not going to risk having my 5Z2 wheels/tires damaged in the transfer process. I also don't want to try to sell the base wheels or worse have to store them.

Sorry for the confusion. When you pick up your car @ the dealer you will get the 5Z2 package with your car. I don't believe they ship from BG factory as I know the Corvette can't store them in the vehicle and I know those wheels are not in the factory. They probably ship to the dealer separately from some GM warehouse. I don't know if they ship the tires and wheels seperately to the dealer and the dealer puts the tires on the wheels or if they are shipped with the combination.

I'm sure they won't show up damaged though!

When are you expecting your C7?
